About HumanSignal

Real-world data is the competitive edge in AI.

HumanSignal is a human data partner for companies building AI models and products. Our customers ship better AI, faster, because we partner with their researchers from real-world data creation to annotation to delivery.

We design and create datasets from scratch, recruit and manage the domain experts who evaluate model output, and run everything through our own platform, Label Studio, the open-source standard for data labeling and evaluation, used by over 1 million practitioners worldwide.

We specialize in the operationally complex: real-world data collection, multimodal pipelines, and multi-step workflows. Advanced ML and AI teams use our enterprise platform to run their own data factories, and our services team to extend their reach where in-house capacity runs out.

If you want to do work that materially shapes how the next generation of AI products gets built, we'd love to talk.

About the Role

You'll join a small marketing team at a fast-moving AI startup where you'll be exposed to a broad range of marketing disciplines and have autonomy to get things done. One day you're editing a launch video, the next you're staging an email campaign or planning a happy hour at a conference. You'll get real ownership, direct mentorship, and room to explore which part of marketing fits you: content, events, demand generation, community, or something you discover along the way.

We expect you to work with AI at every step. You'll use tools like Claude to draft, research, edit, and automate, and you'll help us create and hone new AI workflows the rest of the team adopts.

What You'll Do
  • Content: Manage the editorial calendar and publish posts across our blog and social channels. Edit videos and create graphics and media for launches, tutorials, and social.
  • Events: Coordinate logistics for conferences, meetups, and webinars: bookings, materials, shipping, schedules, and post-event follow-up.
  • Campaigns: Support marketing and recruiting campaigns by polishing and staging emails, standing up landing pages, and researching target accounts and candidates.
  • Swag: Support the swag program: track inventory, place orders, and get gear to community members, customers, and events on time.
  • Community: Help monitor and engage with our social and open source community; flag conversations worth joining.
  • Reporting: Track how content and campaigns perform and share what's working.
Who You Are
  • You use AI tools every day and get excited about building new workflows with them
  • You write well and edit your own work before anyone asks
  • You stay organized across many small moving pieces: calendars, shipments, deadlines, inboxes
  • You have some marketing experience: coursework, a prior internship, a student org, or a channel or project you built yourself
  • You're based in US timezones and available 15–25 hours per week (Austin or San Francisco for hybrid work preferred)
  • Big plus: video editing and media creation skills
What You'll Get
  • $20–25/hour, depending on experience
  • A front-row seat at an AI startup: learn how models get trained, evaluated, and shipped
  • A small team where you can pitch ideas, own projects end to end, and build a portfolio of real shipped work
  • Mentorship from experienced marketers and a chance to test-drive career paths before you commit to one
  • A flexible schedule that works around classes, and a team that moves fast and has fun doing it
How to Apply

Send us your resume plus one thing you've made that you're proud of: a video, a post, a campaign, a meme that went further than you expected.

Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
