The Marketing & Community Lead will manage Flow's social presence, develop narratives, coordinate marketing launches, and engage with the crypto community to amplify brand awareness.
The summary above was generated by AI

Flow is a layer one blockchain designed from the ground up as a platform for a new generation of Web3 apps, games, and the digital assets that power them. Flow is home today to millions of users and apps from top tier creators including Genies, Cryptoys, Doodles, and Dapper Labs (NBA, NFL, Disney) as well as industry leaders such as Mattel (Barbie, Hot Wheels), LiveNation / Ticketmaster, and many more. Our mission is to take Web3 mainstream by making blockchain technology simple, safe, and delightful for builders and consumers alike. We operate as a distributed, low hierarchy organization where humble, inquisitive entrepreneurs thrive.

We steward the Flow network and support builders pushing the edge of what consumer crypto can be, from DeFi and onchain games to culture, AI powered apps, and everything in between. We believe blockchains should feel fast, fun, and invisible to users and Flow is built to make that real.

Your job is to help tell that story and make people care.

What You’ll Do

This role is for someone who lives crypto, ships fast, and takes full ownership of how Flow shows up publicly.

You’ll sit at the intersection of narrative, social, community, and go-to-market execution, running point on launches, shaping how Flow is talked about, and working directly with ecosystem partners to push momentum forward.

You will:

  • Own and operate socials for Flow, end to end which includes content, voice, cadence, experimentation, and performance.

  • Help define and evolve the Flow narrative, with strong opinions on positioning, tone, and where Flow fits in the broader crypto conversation.

  • Run go-to-market launches from start to finish including strategy, messaging, timelines, coordination, distribution, and post launch analysis.

  • Work directly with ecosystem partners (builders, protocols, creators, infra teams) to coordinate marketing efforts and amplify launches.

  • Translate what’s actually happening on Flow into stories people want to read, share, and talk about.

  • Stay tapped into crypto metas including DeFi, consumer apps, AI x crypto, memes, discourse and know when to lean in vs. tune out.

  • Use AI and automation aggressively to scale output: prompts, agents, workflows, tooling…whatever gives you leverage.

  • Engage and grow the community across X, Discord, Telegram, and wherever the conversation moves next.

  • Measure what matters, iterate quickly, and optimize for real impact and not vanity metrics.

  • This is a builder role. You won’t just advise you will ship.

About You

You’re not “crypto-curious.” You’re crypto-native.

You probably already do half of this stuff because you like it.

You’re a great fit if you have:

  • Experience in marketing, growth, or community, ideally in crypto, Web3, or fast moving tech ecosystems.

  • Hands on experience running social accounts, not just managing calendars or approvals.

  • A strong understanding of crypto, especially DeFi, consumer apps, and current narratives/metas.

  • Experience owning launches, you know how to go from idea to execution to distribution to feedback loop.

  • Comfort coordinating with external partners and moving things forward without heavy process.

  • Clear, sharp writing, you can explain complex ideas without sounding boring or corporate.

  • Real experience with AI and automation (prompting, agents, tooling, workflows), not just curiosity.

  • A bias toward speed, ownership, and learning in public.

Bonus points if you:

  • Have marketed a developer platform, protocol, or L1/L2.

  • Have run community led growth or ecosystem campaigns.

  • Care deeply about consumer crypto actually breaking through.

Benefits & Culture

Flow Foundation is remote first, globally distributed, and optimized for builders. We value autonomy, curiosity, and people who take responsibility for outcomes.

We’re building for the long term and we want people who are excited to help shape where Flow goes next.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
