At Compass, our mission is to help everyone find their place in the world. Founded in 2012, we’re revolutionizing the real estate industry with our end-to-end platform that empowers residential real estate agents to deliver exceptional service to seller and buyer clients.

Compass seeks a Marketing Advisor to join the team that shapes all of our agents' marketing and branding projects from concept to execution. This team provides vital project management, strategic support, and empowers agents to achieve their marketing goals. You will deliver value that makes clients' marketing efforts more efficient, less time-consuming, and more impactful while collaborating with various stakeholders to create offerings and strategies that positively affect the agent experience on a 'big picture’ scale.

Please note: this role is 100% in-office in either Boston, Cambridge, or Wellesley MA.

At Compass You Will:

  • Support the execution of marketing initiatives for a diverse portfolio of real estate agents, driving business growth and client satisfaction.
  • Project-manage custom marketing requests end-to-end, including design workflow oversight, vendor coordination, agent communication, and post-campaign reporting.
  • Develop marketing strategies and recommendations that cut through the noise and allow agents to maximize their budget effectiveness against tactics that grow their business and achieve their goals; this includes branding, print advertising, digital, social, direct mail, video, paid media, etc.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert with a deep understanding of market performance, client needs, Compass tools, and regional dynamics.
  • Build strong, empathetic relationships with agents and stakeholders through clear communication, proactive updates, and confident handling of objections.
  • Ensure all marketing and design materials follow Compass brand guidelines while seamlessly integrating agent-specific branding.
  • Quickly assemble templated creative assets—such as print ads and brochures—using InDesign and Compass systems, ensuring high-quality, on-brand execution.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by providing meaningful support, personalized recognition, and proactive marketing guidance that “surprises and delights” clients.
  • Act as a culture carrier who inspires and empowers teammates through a positive, solutions-oriented mindset and a willingness to champion change.

What We Are Looking For:

  • 2-5 years of marketing experience.
  • Skilled communicator with great interpersonal skills, possessing the ability to clearly articulate and educate on marketing concepts in various settings (1:1 or public speaking) while building relationships.
  • Possess a deep understanding of marketing strategy and planning with the ability to identify the right tactics across a multitude of marketing channels.
  • Excellent project management skills with a proven track record of meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently, taking ownership over your own accounts while working collaboratively in a team environment to drive best practices.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, highly organized
  • Comfortable with a fast-paced environment, evolving responsibilities, and wearing multiple hats.
  • Passionate about the intersection of marketing and technology, and you have the ability to speak to the benefits of it.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically InDesign.
  • Prior real estate industry and/or agency experience preferred.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
