Our Newest Opportunity: 

In this deadline sensitive position, the market specialist provides support to benefit consultants, financial consultants, and market analysts and works directly with the carriers to manage the RFP and proposal processes for small and middle market clients. Also assists in preparing basic claim and plan performance reports for delivery to client and updating policies in our CRM system.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Obtain insurance product rate quotes – medical, dental, life, disability, and voluntary lines - either on-line or through preparation and submission of proposals, from various insurance carriers at the request of benefits consultants, financial consultants, or market analysts

· Assist with procurement of carrier quotes, initial negotiations and the underwriting process

· Meet and exceed all time frames allotted for quoting and proposal generation activities

· Build and maintain rapport with carrier contacts for follow up on administrative issues, including RFP status, underwriting requirements and participation guidelines

· Obtain quotes needed for baseline rates or new product alternatives

· Follow-up with internal departments to ensure timely receipt of required commission disclosures, transparency statements, census data and carrier ratings

· Complete inputs into standard analytics/claim reporting tools

· Work with market advisor toward timely completion of regional workload and ensure all job responsibilities are completed accurately

· Adhere to confidentiality and HIPAA guidelines

· Update and maintain company databases

· Various duties as assigned by management

Qualifications, Skills and Requirements:

· Strong attention to detail

· Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel and Word

· Familiar with database applications

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Ability to build strong lasting relationships

· Strong organizational skills

· Must be self-motivated and disciplined

· Ability to thrive in fast-paced environment

Education, Training and Experience:

· Bachelors Degree, preferred (preferably finance, accounting, math)

· Experience at carrier, general agency or brokerage in a benefits support role, a plus;

· Knowledge of health and ancillary insurance products and benefit plan designs, a plus;

Your base pay is dependent upon your skills, education, qualifications, professional experience, and location. In addition to base pay, some roles are eligible for variable compensation, commission, and/or annual bonus based on your individual performance and/or the company’s performance.
