Market Development Rep - Let's Reinvent Outbound Together....Wait, another SDR role?

Not quite. We're Gather AI, building Physical AI for intralogistics. We give warehouses real-time intelligence across their entire operation, from what's on shelves to what's moving through the dock.

But here's the thing: we need to talk to people differently than everyone else in our space. And that's where you come in.

What we're looking for

You've got 2-4 years in tech/B2B/SaaS sales. You understand buying cycles and can talk ROI. But you're over the traditional playbook. You'd rather build one great relationship than blast 100 cold emails. You get excited about trying new approaches. You're the person who asks "what if we tried..." in meetings. You actually like people, and they tend to like you back.

What you'll do

  • Dream up creative ways to start conversations with warehouse operations leaders
  • Build authentic relationships at target accounts
  • Partner with marketing and sales to test new engagement strategies
  • Generate qualified pipeline through quality interactions, not volume
  • Help define what market development looks like at a fast-growing startup creating a new category

You'll work with a group of talented folks and have real autonomy to try new things. We're small enough that your ideas get implemented, scrappy enough that we need them.

Why you might want this

Real talk: we're asking you to break the traditional outbound mold. You'll learn about a massive industry (warehouse automation), work with a platform that delivers 99.9% accuracy and ROI in under six months, and help define how a fast-growing Physical AI company goes to market.

Competitive salary + equity. Unlimited PTO. Remote-friendly.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
