Our client is looking for a writer to partner with their internal teams to produce knowledge base-specific web page content. This will require performing research and gathering materials from credible technical and regulatory sources as well as conducting interviews with internal subject matter experts.
Profile OverviewThis writer will serve as an essential part of our client’s marketing team, helping create knowledge base copy in relevant content categories that explain biofouling risk and management for different maritime vessel types. This copy will serve multiple purposes, including SEO, education, and sales.
These pages will:
- Help owners, operators, and technical managers understand where and why fouling happens on their vessels.
- Show what good biofouling management looks like in practice.
- Position the brand as a knowledgeable partner, without turning the content into a direct sales pitch.
For this role, the client provides detailed, structured briefs for each assignment, designed to support consistent, high-quality technical content. Briefs will define the topic focus and target audience, outline a recommended page structure to ensure consistency, and include tone and style guidance that prioritizes technical accuracy and practical clarity over sales language. They also provide direction on credible technical, regulatory, and industry sources, set clear expectations for length, format, and intended use, and will involve original research such as desk research and interviews with internal subject matter experts. Writers are responsible for producing the written content only; design, layout, and web implementation are handled separately.
The ideal writer should be comfortable writing for decision-makers in the commercial maritime industry, including fleet managers, superintendents, operations and fleet directors, captains, chief engineers, and technical buyers, as well as sustainability and decarbonization leaders. These audiences span both hands-on, job-focused technical roles (such as chief engineers and technical buyers) and senior, strategy- and budget-responsible executives (such as fleet managers and superintendents). The content should speak to ship owners, operators, and vessel management companies across offshore, international shipping, merchant marine, and superyacht segments—balancing operational detail with high-level considerations around performance, compliance, cost control, and long-term fleet strategy.

- Proofread and edit content to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency in messaging that aligns with the tone and brand
- Proven experience as a content writer, preferably within the maritime industry. Relevant industrial or logistical experience will also be accepted.
- Exceptional writing abilities and the skill to adapt tone and style to match brand and audience. The candidate must also have impeccable grammar and attention to detail.
