Your expertise in lean principles, automation, and continuous improvement will be instrumental in driving operational excellence and achieving higher levels of productivity and cost-effectiveness. You'll develop and use test procedures, evaluate test results, and assess work methods, procedures, and policies to identify root cause issues and solutions that ensure operational success.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Provides manufacturing engineering support for Final Assembly, Shipping, and Sub-Assembly operations. Supports a wide variety of products and assemblies ranging from simple mechanical builds to highly complex systems requiring assembly, test, packaging, and shipment readiness activities.
  • Help develop and improve operation sequences, manufacturing processes, assembly methods, packaging standards, and shipment preparation procedures. May include designing build, lift, handling, shipping, and packaging fixtures, as well as implementing engineering design changes to improve safety, quality, manufacturability, and throughput.
  • Evaluates and optimizes manufacturing layouts/build cells, material flow, packaging processes, and shipping operations to streamline production, reduce cycle time, and improve operational efficiency.
  • Maintains and optimizes Bills of Material (BOMs), product structures, and configuration data. Collaborates with Design Engineering and Operations to write, release, approve, and implement Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and product structure updates that support manufacturing, packaging, shipping, installation, and operational efficiency improvements.
  • Determines root causes and implements corrective actions for issues arising during assembly, test, packaging, shipment, transportation, or customer installation activities. Uses structured problem-solving methodologies and data-driven analysis to eliminate recurring issues and improve overall product quality and delivery performance.
  • Applies Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies to identify and eliminate waste, improve process flow, reduce cycle time, and increase operational effectiveness throughout the manufacturing and shipping process.
  • Estimates manufacturing costs, establishes labor standards, and recommends tooling, fixtures, packaging solutions, and process improvements to support efficient and cost-effective operations.
  • Supports the development, qualification, and validation of packaging solutions, transportation fixtures, crating methods, and material handling processes to ensure products arrive at customer sites safely and damage-free.
  • Conduct audits at customer sites to evaluate shipment quality, packaging effectiveness, installation readiness, and overall delivery performance. Identifies process gaps and drives corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Works closely with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to improve shipment readiness, reduce transportation-related issues, optimize packaging performance, and improve overall customer experience.
  • Supports supplier quality initiatives through direct engagement with suppliers, packaging vendors, and contract manufacturers. May participate in supplier audits and improvement activities as required.
  • Travels domestically and internationally as needed to support customer-site audits, shipment assessments, packaging validation activities, supplier visits, and operational improvement projects.
  • Experience with one or more of the following systems is preferred: SAP, PTC Creo, Smartsheet, Tableau, or other similar software programs.
