Manhattan Active TMS Configuration ConsultantPosition Overview
We are looking for an experienced Manhattan Active Transportation Management System (TMS) Configuration Consultant to support the configuration, implementation, enhancement, and maintenance of Manhattan Active TMS solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of transportation management processes, Manhattan Active TMS configuration, and integration with enterprise systems.
The role involves working closely with business stakeholders, transportation teams, technical teams, and external partners to translate transportation requirements into scalable TMS configurations.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure and customize Manhattan Active TMS based on business and transportation requirements.
- Analyze transportation processes including load planning, shipment planning, carrier management, tendering, routing, rating, freight settlement, and execution.
- Gather requirements from business users and translate them into functional configuration specifications.
- Configure transportation-related business rules, workflows, parameters, and optimization settings.
- Configure carrier, service, lane, rate, tariff, accessorial, and transportation planning components.
- Support shipment consolidation, routing guides, carrier selection, tendering, and appointment scheduling processes.
- Configure and troubleshoot transportation planning and execution scenarios.
- Support integration between Manhattan Active TMS and systems such as ERP, WMS, OMS, carrier systems, EDI platforms, and third-party logistics providers.
- Work with technical teams on APIs, web services, EDI, and other integration interfaces.
- Perform configuration testing, integration testing, system testing, and support UAT.
- Analyze defects and production issues and provide root-cause analysis and corrective solutions.
- Support data setup, validation, migration, and configuration deployment across environments.
- Prepare functional specifications, configuration documents, test scenarios, and user documentation.
- Participate in implementation, enhancement, upgrade, and production support activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including supply chain, logistics, warehouse, transportation, integration, and development teams.
- Provide knowledge transfer and support to business users and offshore/onshore teams.
Required Skills
- 4+ years of experience in Transportation Management Systems, with hands-on experience in Manhattan Active TMS.
- Strong experience in Manhattan Active TMS configuration and functional setup.
- Good understanding of transportation management and logistics processes.

- Good SQL knowledge for data validation and troubleshooting.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience integrating Manhattan Active TMS with Manhattan Active WM, Manhattan Active Omni, Manhattan Active Order Management, ERP, or external carrier systems.
- Knowledge of transportation-related EDI transactions such as 204, 210, 214, 990, and 997.
- Experience with carrier connectivity and third-party logistics providers.
- Knowledge of freight audit and payment processes.
- Experience with transportation optimization and constraint configuration.
- Experience supporting large-scale retail, distribution, or e-commerce environments.
- Manhattan Active certifications or relevant Manhattan Associates training is a plus.
