We are now seeking an exceptional Managing Director, AMI Enterprise to scale this business unit into the premier provider of tech-forward corporate learning and executive education for Africa’s professionals.

Reporting directly to the CEO and serving on AMI’s Executive Leadership Team, the Managing Director will own the strategy, commercial growth, product positioning, and P&L responsibility for AMI Enterprise — building a true pan-African learning powerhouse across both Anglophone and Francophone markets. AMI Enterprise is the newer of AMI's two operating units, with both drawing on world-class central learning, product, technical and marketing teams.

This is a rare opportunity to lead Africa’s most respected B2B learning platforms at a moment of major scale-up, shaping how the continent’s top organisations invest in talent and leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Business Leadership

  • Refine and execute the growth strategy for AMI Enterprise across Africa - in line with overall business strategy
  • Position AMI Enterprise as the clear market leader in corporate learning and leadership development
  • Drive ambitious expansion plans, scaling across priority enterprise markets

Product & Market Offering

  • Partner closely with AMI’s product and learning teams to continually evolve the enterprise portfolio
  • Lead pricing and positioning to meet the needs of diverse corporate and growth-stage clients
  • Ensure AMI’s offerings remain best-in-class, practical, and commercially compelling

Commercial Growth & Enterprise Sales

  • Own revenue growth and delivery against ambitious sales targets
  • Lead enterprise business development, leveraging personal networks and cultivating new strategic relationships
  • Build scalable lead generation and sales systems across multiple African markets
  • Represent AMI with senior stakeholders at industry forums, conferences, and partner events

Finance, Operations & Delivery Excellence

  • Own delivery against P&L targets set with CEO/CFO
  • Ensure world-class programme delivery and client satisfaction at scale
  • Work with senior operational and functional leaders to drive excellence end-to-end

Team & Organisational Leadership

  • Lead and develop a high-performing, cross-functional, multi-country team spanning sales, marketing, learning, and programme delivery
  • Build a strong performance culture in collaboration with country managers and group functional leads
  • Recruit, coach, and inspire leaders who can deliver growth across markets

In the first 12–18 months, success will include:

  • A strengthened sales and delivery engine capable of scaling sustainably

We are looking for an executive leader who combines commercial excellence with deep commitment to Africa’s growth:

  • Commercial and strategic leadership: Ability to translate market insight and customer data into clear growth plans and execution
  • Enterprise sales expertise: Proven success selling complex solutions to senior corporate decision-makers across Africa
  • Team builder: Strong track record of hiring, coaching, and leading high-performing commercial teams across multiple markets
  • Analytical and data-driven: Comfortable owning financial models, pricing strategy, pipeline forecasting, and performance metrics
  • Influence and executive presence: Ability to build trust with CEOs, HR leaders, and internal stakeholders through credibility and communication
  • Entrepreneurial drive: High ownership mindset and ability to thrive in a fast-moving, mission-driven organisation
  • Mission alignment: Deep enthusiasm for AMI’s purpose — enabling ambitious African businesses and leaders to thrive
Experience

Required

  • Senior commercial leadership experience in Africa (e.g., BU lead, growth executive, country director)
  • Strong background in enterprise sales and relationship management
  • Experience developing commercial strategy, managing budgets, and leading multi-functional teams

Preferred

  • Exposure to corporate L&D, executive education, HRTech, or professional services
  • Experience working across multiple African markets, including Francophone Africa
  • Experience in international or high-growth organisations
Language Requirements
  • Fluent English required
  • French is a strong advantage
Location & Travel

This role will be based in Nairobi or Lagos and will require regular travel across Africa to engage clients, teams, and partners.
