The Manager, Trading Engineering job sets goals and objectives for the achievement of greenfield, brownfield and BAU work results for the product team responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software applications and systems that drive the trading operations. This job requires strategic vision and technical leadership to manage trading engineering products and projects, implementing appropriate technologies and methodologies and adopting best in class industry standards and emerging technologies to improve the performance and capabilities of trading systems. Key Accountabilities
- PROJECT MANAGEMENT: Coordinates the planning and delivery of trading software projects/products, ensuring timely and within scope completion despite market volatility across multiple products, trading platforms, risk management systems and real time analytics tools.
- AUTOMATION: Leads the implementation of continuous integration and deployment pipelines to streamline trading software releases, automating tests to validate software reliability under various market conditions and optimizing workflows by automating repetitive tasks to increase operational efficiency.
- QUALITY ASSURANCE: Reviews to ensure adherence to the highest standards of quality and performance in all trading software applications through rigorous testing, comprehensive code reviews, and strict adherence to best in class industry standards to prevent system failures that lead to significant financial losses.
- PROCESS IMPROVEMENT: Coordinates continuous improvement initiatives, improving software development and deployment processes and eliminating inefficiencies in workflows, to ensure rapid delivery of trading solutions.
- STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT: Strong stakeholder management is required to coordinate the engineering team partnerships with traders, product managers, analysts and other cross functional teams to understand trading operations' unique requirements, promoting stakeholder engagement and prioritizing high value projects for the trading business.
- DOCUMENTATION: Leads the delivery of comprehensive documentation of trading software, deployment processes and system configurations, including up-to-date, detailed records of algorithms, data workflows and integrations, meeting compliance and audit standards to facilitate transparency and continuity in trading operations.
- TECHNICAL SUPPORT: Leads teams to provide exceptional technical support and swift issue resolution for trading applications, implementing robust processes like real time monitoring and incident response, and facilitating knowledge sharing and continuous learning to improve the team's ability to diagnose and resolve complex trading system issues.
- COMMUNICATION: Act as a leader, facilitates communication on strategies, risks and progress with management team and other stakeholders, ensuring alignment and support.
- TEAM MANAGEMENT: Manages team members as leader to achieve the organization's goals, by allocating resources, ensuring productivity, communicating performance expectations, creating goal alignment, giving and seeking feedback, providing coaching, measuring progress and holding people accountable, supporting employee development, recognizing achievement and lessons learned, and developing enabling conditions for talent to thrive in an inclusive team culture.
