Primary Purpose
The Manager, Special Projects focuses on tactical execution from initial design concept to bulk production order placement.
The successful individual will leverage their proficiency in Product Development to...
  • Drive execution of the collection consistent with the aesthetic vision and with a strong focus on meeting the business requirements for margin goals, quality standards and timelines.
  • Partner with the Asia PD and Strategic Costing teams to provide on-time costing, updates and options, as needed. Drive NY costing activities, and collaboration with design, merch, and production to achieve IMU and Delivery goals.
  • Manage the day-to-day activities and take the lead on daily development communication with global partners, focused on clarity of information, timely responses and ensuring alignment and understanding of design intent, management of milestones and deliverables. Removes barriers, and/or escalates risk.
  • Build relationships and initiate processes with internal and external global partners, including agents and specialized contractors, to facilitate cross-functional synergy and collaboration through effective communication, clarity of roles and responsibilities, and alignment of goals.
  • Manage product sampling and review schedule, with a focus on design intent, updates, standards, execution and overall consistency of information. and minimize liabilities.
  • Partner with Material teams to ensure new materials are in work, pass testing requirements, and are on track for milestone deliverables.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance agility and improve efficiency.

The accomplished individual will possess...
  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience in relevant field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft 360, ECV or other PLM systems
  • Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills

  • 4+ years of relevant experience in product development, including the categories of handbags and SLGs, and/or knowledge of Special Accessories (home goods, games, and other). An equivalent combination of work experience and education will be considered.
