Job responsibilities
- Provides guidance to immediate team of software engineers on daily tasks and activities
- Sets the overall guidance and expectations for team output, practices, and collaboration
- Anticipates dependencies with other teams to deliver products and applications in line with business requirements
- Manages stakeholder relationships and the team's work in accordance with compliance standards, service level agreements, and business requirements
- Creates a culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect for the team members and prioritizes diverse representation
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience. In addition, demonstrated coaching and mentoring experience
- Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Strong concepts and hands-on coding skills in Java, Spring Boot, and React, with high proficiency in design patterns and detailed design knowledge to ensure robust, scalable, and maintainable solutions that meet complex business requirements.
- Extensive full stack development expertise, capable of seamlessly integrating front-end and back-end technologies to deliver comprehensive solutions. This includes proficiency in modern frameworks, libraries, and tools that enhance user experience and system performance.
- Strong knowledge of AWS or any other cloud platform, ensuring efficient cloud resource management.
- Practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and ensuring operational stability
- Proficient in coding with one or more languages, including Java
- Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
- Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience working at code level
- In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
