ZoomInfo is looking for a technical and people-focused Engineering Manager to lead our S2A Engine team—the group responsible for building the core intelligence layer powering our Copilot platform. This engine fuels the real-time insights and automation that enable sales and marketing teams to move faster and smarter.

In this role, you’ll lead a team of talented backend engineers to design, develop, and operate distributed systems that scale with millions of requests per day. You’ll balance execution with mentorship, strategy with empathy, and architecture with pragmatism. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional partners in product, TPM, and other engineering teams to ship high-impact features while fostering a culture of technical excellence and psychological safety.

What you will do:

  • Lead, coach, and grow a team of backend engineers focused on delivering reliable, scalable backend systems for ZoomInfo's Copilot platform.
  • Set technical direction and priorities for the S2A Engine, helping your team make thoughtful architectural decisions using technologies like TypeScript, NestJS, MongoDB, and Confluent Cloud.
  • Drive execution of key projects, balancing roadmap delivery with engineering best practices, such as clean code, testing, observability, and CI/CD.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, TPMs, and stakeholders to define goals, clarify requirements, and ensure alignment.
  • Promote a healthy engineering culture, encouraging curiosity, ownership, innovation, and continuous learning.
  • Recruit and onboard new talent, ensuring a smooth and inclusive team experience.

What you will bring:

  • 2+ years of engineering management experience, including direct mentorship and performance management of engineers.
  • 6+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, preferably with modern backend stacks such as TypeScript, Node.js, and NestJS.
  • Proven ability to design and operate large-scale distributed systems, ideally in a SaaS or product-driven environment.
  • Experience working with databases like MongoDB and streaming technologies like Kafka or Confluent Cloud.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills—you can translate between technical and non-technical audiences with ease.
  • A collaborative, pragmatic mindset with a bias toward action and delivering customer value.
