Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership (30%):
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of software engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
Provide technical guidance and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions.
Conduct regular performance evaluations, set goals, and identify opportunities for professional development within the team.
Technical Oversight (25%):
Drive the development of scalable, secure, and compliant software systems using modern technologies and architectural best practices.
Oversee the integration of compliance-focused features, including recall checking, inventory management, and controlled substance decommissioning.
Ensure all software solutions meet regulatory standards such as HIPAA, DSCSA, and FDA requirements.
Project Management (20%):
Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of software projects within the Compliance Solutions business line.
Collaborate with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to define project requirements, scope, and timelines.
Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and aligned with business objectives.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management (15%):
Act as the primary technical point of contact for Compliance Solutions, providing updates and insights to internal and external stakeholders.
Partner with other engineering managers to align on cross-functional initiatives and ensure seamless integration between products.
Collaborate with QA, DevOps, and support teams to optimize development workflows and maintain operational excellence.
Continuous Improvement (10%):
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance team productivity, software quality, and delivery efficiency.
Stay updated on emerging technologies, tools, and industry trends relevant to compliance and healthcare software.
Drive innovation by exploring new approaches to solving complex compliance and safety challenges.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
7+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 2+ years in a management or leadership role.
Proven experience delivering enterprise-grade software solutions in regulated industries such as healthcare or pharmaceuticals.
Strong knowledge of compliance and safety requirements, including inventory management, recall notifications, and controlled substance decommissioning.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in modern programming languages and frameworks such as C#, Python, or JavaScript, and familiarity with cloud platforms like Azure or GCP.
Understanding of software architecture, microservices, and API development.
Experience with database systems such as SQL Server or Postgres.
Soft Skills:
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on delivering results.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with healthcare compliance regulations (e.g., HIPAA, DSCSA, FDA).
Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Knowledge of machine learning or AI applications in compliance and inventory management.
Exposure to agile development methodologies and tools such as JIRA or Azure DevOps.
