The Manager, Rights Management oversees the day-to-day administration and quality of content-rights data in Rightsline. This role, reporting to the Senior Manager, Rights & Scheduling, ensures that rights information received from Business Affairs and Content Acquisition is complete, interpretable, accurately configured, and maintained through approved controls.
The Manager is responsible for operational execution and leading a team to review source terms, enter and update content-rights attributes, identify discrepancies, managing exceptions, and coordinating resolution with the appropriate business or technology partner. The role is a key point of accountability for Rightsline data quality and timely rights changes while maintaining clear separation from financial-term entry, scheduling, and avails ownership.
Key Responsibilities
Content rights entry: responsible for entering content details from contracts (titles, territories, languages, windows, media, restrictions) into Rightsline, the system of record that carries rights to distribution channels (SVOD, digital manga, theatrical, home video), following approved workflows and standards.Perform quality checks and reconciliation: regularly audit datasets to ensure completeness, accuracy and clarity, and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare operational reporting: prepare analysis on work volume, completeness, accuracy, and data variances for business targets with cross-functional teams.
- Support special projects: provide input and oversight on projects ranging from systems improvement UAT to data reconciliation initiatives.
- Manage a team of analysts: lead a team of analysts who will enter contract details in Rightsline and ensure SLAs are met.
- 3+ years experience leading teams in rights/contract management in media & entertainment
- Proven leadership skills in keeping teams accountable and goal execution with an eye on process improvement
- Attention to detail; well versed in understanding contract language and translating terms
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to influence cross-functionally
- Experience with Rightsline and understanding data flows both upstream and downstream and subsequent business impacts
Preferred:
- Experience in streaming industry
- Experience and familiarity of anime content and anime industry
