The Manager, Accounting oversees general accounting activities, ensures compliance with regulations, manages month-end closings, and prepares financial reports.
Job Description:
The Manager, Accounting is responsible for planning and directing the accounting activities of the department. Providing oversight of general ledger accounts, financial statements and preparation of reports for upper management.- Contributes to the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures ; ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
- Establishes internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions and budget preparation.
- Manages month-end closing processes and procedures; ensure accuracy and timely completion to meet department and company deadlines.
- Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards.
- Audits accounts to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations; coordinates with outside auditors and provides needed information for the annual external audit.
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field.
- Or, any combination of education and experience which would provide the required qualifications for the position.
- 6+ years accounting experience.
- 3+ years management experience
- Experience with SAP / Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
- Knowledge of: Extensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite. SAP or similar ERP.
- Skill in: Communication (written, verbal), management, time management, research, detail oriented, analytical, critical thinking, excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to: Establish and maintain effective working relationships, prioritize workload, multi-task, and meet deadlines.
