1. Achievement of the Annual Budget Operating Plan for the Business Unit under the Manager’s area of responsibility
- Implement the approved Budget Business Plan for the year and ensure that both APP and Revenue targets are achieved or surpassed.
- Ensure that all operating expenses are controlled within the approved levels.
- Recommend investments that will achieve sustainable cost savings and process efficiency improvements.
- Ensure that a documented process for continuous improvement is put in place and followed.

- Ensure the implementation of approved SOP’s within the approved budget of resources allocated for the operation of the DC. 
- Review the performance KPI's and operating expenses.  Ensure that any variances versus agreed standards or budget assumptions are understood and mitigated  if there is a negative impact to the operations of the Business Unit.
- Ensure the availability of resources for the consistent achievement of agreed KPI targets with the Principal/client.          
3. Develop and maintain the relationship with the Principal 
- Initiate the review of DC operations(KPI’s and operational issues) with the principal’s representatives and schedule the reviews to take place on a regular basis.(weekly or monthly, depending on the requirements of the principal/client and the complexity of the operations)
- Attend to specific issues and concerns, raised by the Principal/client, in a timely manner.
4. Business / Budget Planning
- Prepare and recommend business and budget plans for approval by the Senior Manager and Director-Logistics..
- Initiate cost saving projects with emphasis on improved processes, line efficiency gains, reduced wastage or increased automation so as to reduce cost, improve quality and increase productivity.
5. People Management 
- Ensure that the highest level of Health & Safety is maintained and to ensure that any deviations from these published standards are reported promptly to the Senior Manager or the Director-Logistics.
- Coach subordinates on important aspects of work performance, and where appropriate recommend development plans promotion or further improvement in areas of poor performance.
- Ensure a clean, safe and hazard free work environment in all areas of the business.
