The role
SoFi is seeking a data-driven thinker and well-rounded operator to join the Marketing Business Operations team. The role will be pivotal in both driving the organizational effectiveness of the marketing function (working on the business) and leading strategic projects that include testing, launching, and iterating on new marketing on behalf of the CMO & marketing leadership (working in the business).
The Manager, Marketing Business Operations is a high octane go-getter with the intellectual curiosity, strategic chops, and relationship building acumen to lead cross-functional teams toward incubating and testing marketing strategies. The Manager will spearhead the development and execution of key initiatives, such as our new SoFi Plus Experiences benefit that provides our premium subscription members with access to curated events in live sports, music, and more.
This role reports to the Director of Marketing Business Operations. As a member of Marketing Business Operations, the Manager works with many other teams within SoFi. As such, the ideal candidate has a proven track record of leading and collaborating cross-functionally to solve complex, ambiguous challenges.
What you’ll do
- Structure complex problems, define clear hypotheses, and build business cases that influence our approach, such as the future state vision for SoFi Plus Experiences
- Create the partnership pipeline for Experiences, collaborating with Brand Strategy and Sports Marketing to identify and execute against opportunities
- Lead the creation of value propositions and go to market strategies for strategic initiatives such as SoFi Plus Experiences, partnering with the marketing teams including Brand, Creative Studio, PMM, and Channel Owners
- Produce quantitative models in support of strategic, operational, and planning decisions in collaboration with marketing leadership, Marketing Data Science, and Finance
- Build Board and Executive-ready presentations, documents, and communications effectively conveying recommendations, summarizing plans and priorities, and celebrating achievements
- Manage and mentor the Associate, Marketing Business Operations
- Manage and execute ad-hoc activities as requested by the Director of Marketing Business Operations, the marketing leadership team, and the CMO
What you’ll need:
- A commitment to SoFi’s mission of helping people Get Their Money Right to achieve their financial ambitions
- A Bachelor’s degree
- 5+ years of work experience in a top-tier consulting firm, investment bank or high growth technology business
- Expertise building Board and Executive-ready presentations
- Proven ability to build strong relationships and lead cross-functional teams
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in building financial models and business cases
- Strategic and proactive approach to problem solving, particularly in ambiguous and dynamic environments
- Hands on operational capabilities with advanced proficiency in Google Suite, MS Office Apps, etc.
- Experience in financial services, consumer technology, and marketing
- Excellent time and project management skills with a track record of delivering on complex projects
