development of people. The incumbent will exhibit core partnership behaviors, working closely with Healthy
Communities and Planet (HCP) teams to prepare review decks and narratives. This role will be integral to the AD
Group, focusing on ESG reporting, HCP, and ESG BPP. The successful candidate will collaborate with Subject Matter
Experts (SMEs) who manage ESG-related data within the brands and support services. Additionally, the role involves
providing efficient guidance and interpretation on ESG-related questions in relation to the accounting manual and
reporting requirements.
Essential Functions:

  • Leads and oversees the research and preparation of position papers on ESG reporting for complex, non-standard, and new matters, ensuring compliance with the Ahold Delhaize Accounting Manual and ESG Standards (GHG Protocol, etc.).
  • Interprets complex accounting rules and establishes policies related to the rules, serving as a key advisor to business partners on ESG-related topics.
  • Manages and develops a team that provides guidance and support for Accounting Manual governance and interpretation, covering areas such as CSRD Requirements, EU Tax, Climate Risk Assessments, new KPI requirements, and changes in existing KPI definitions, as well as Green Bond Reporting.
  • Manages processes that support HC&P progress towards reasonable assurance and resolution of data gaps in reporting.
  • Partners with the Governance team for audit support and process improvements, addressing future reporting requirements.
  • Participates in the Global Accounting Manual Committee and Global ESG Requirements Panel, gathering and incorporating feedback from stakeholders to ensure alignment of all required reporting metrics.
  • Manage preparation of externally reported EU Tax reporting requirements (twice a year) and Climate Risk
  • Assessment templates for all brands within ADUSA. Supports the Race to Zero (RTZ) Roadmap for capital planning and reporting of progress and planning.
  • Support accurate STI calculation is done through appropriate interpretation of technical guidance
  • Support the ADUSA reporting for compliance with the Green Bond Reporting or Sustainability-linked Bond issued by AD. (non-compliance results in significant negative impacts)


Quaifications:

  • 8+ yrs of relevant experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent certifications and experience in related fields
  • Experience understanding and managing financial/data/ESG-related analysis and reporting. GHG Protocol (scope 1, 2 and 3), Plastics, Workplace Safety, Animal Welfare knowledge is a plus.
  • Experience in directing the creation of auditable controls and processes to create reasonable assurance is desired
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret complex and evolving ESG standards
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Makes decisions by applying evolving ESG principles, theories and concepts requiring extensive technical and financial acumen.
  • CPA preferred
