Summary:
As part of the Cencora Corporate Responsibility team, reporting to the Director of Environmental Sustainability, the Manager - Sustainability will play a key role in advancing Cencora's sustainability efforts. This position focuses on managing environmental data to meet regulatory compliance and customer expectations while leading carbon reduction projects and providing strategic insights across the global portfolio.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Collect, analyze, and report on environmental data, ensuring integrity and compliance, while collaborating with audit stakeholders
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Operations, Procurement, Finance) for accurate data collection and engage external stakeholders to communicate sustainability efforts and best practices
  • Lead the management of sustainability and greenhouse gas emissions data, supporting decision-making and compliance with standards
  • Assist the Director in advancing the Corporate Responsibility strategy by managing environmental risks and identifying opportunities
  • Build relationships with energy consultants and coordinate contracts and performance metrics to align with sustainability goals
  • Identify and implement best practices in energy, water, and waste management, integrating them into operational processes
  • Lead efforts in packaging reduction and innovation, ensuring alignment with corporate goals
  • Compile data for ESG rankings and respond to customer inquiries, ensuring alignment with sustainability strategies
  • Develop frameworks for benchmarking practices in emissions reduction and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Support sustainability training programs and develop resources to enhance ESG literacy across the enterprise
  • Assist in data collection and narrative development for the annual report
  • Contribute to company-wide sustainability initiatives to foster a culture of environmental stewardship
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • 5-7 years of experience in data management or data governance, particularly in sustainability or ESG contexts
  • Proven expertise in handling complex datasets and implementing data governance best practices
  • Strong ability to manage key working relationships and coordinate across cross-functional teams, including Compliance and IT
  • Demonstrated interest or knowledge in ESG/sustainability is strongly preferred
  • Ability to facilitate complex projects across multiple functions and navigate numerous stakeholders
  • Excellent problem solving, organizational, and time management skills
  • Proactive and able to anticipate needs, meet deadlines, and manage competing priorities while maintaining high-quality output
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills, with strong quantitative and analytical skills for tracking, organizing, and summarizing data
  • Reliable, collaborative team player capable of forming positive relationships across all organizational levels
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and capability to learn new technology tools

Salary Range*
$86,500 - 123,860
*This Salary Range reflects a National Average for this job. The actual range may vary based on your locale. Ranges in Colorado/California/Washington/New York/Hawaii/Vermont/Minnesota/Massachusetts/Illinois State-specific locations may be up to 10% lower than the minimum salary range, and 12% higher than the maximum salary range.
