CLA is growing and seeking to hire an experienced Manager/Director – National Exempt Tax to join our talented firm. The position offers growth, opportunities for advancement, flexibility and a collaborative work environment.
In this position you should have the following: excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels; strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a team of controversy professionals; problem solving and creative abilities, coupled with sound judgment; ability to manage multiple matters; strategic skills to build a practice; and high level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
How you’ll create opportunities in this Manager/Director – National Exempt Tax role:
- Serve tax exempt clients in the Healthcare, Higher Ed, and Nonprofit industries in a high impact manner, demonstrating command of a major area of specialization.
- Demonstrate deep technical skills and have the above related industry knowledge.
- Excel at engagement management and operational excellence.
- Assist clients with meeting their tax and day to day compliance needs.
- Research and draft technical tax memoranda on various tax issues for clients.
- Review and sign a variety of exempt organization returns and serve as a subject matter expert when appropriate.
- Develop and mentor staff and oversee client engagement teams.
What you will need:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 6 years of experience serving in a tax role with public accounting and/or professional services firm
- Experience specializing in tax exempt organizations preferred
- CPA required (JD or Enrolled Agent (EA) may be accepted in lieu of CPA certification)
The wage range for this position is: $118,000 – $224,000
Factors such as geography, experience, education, skills, and knowledge may impact position of pay within the range.
