Who We Are

Wayfair is THE destination for all things home: helping everyone, anywhere create their feeling of home. Wayfair’s Curation, Brands, & Stores (CB&S) team aims to improve the buying experience for our customers by ensuring they can find the perfect item for them. To support this goal, our CB&S Analytics team partners with teams across all brands and channels to enable them to put our best items in front of customers and merchandise them perfectly.

We are looking for a Manager, Commercial Business Analytics to join our team and leverage data-driven decision making, technical expertise, and strong communication skills through work with our Physical Retail, Specialty Retail Brand, and Exclusive Brand merchant, marketing, and operations teams to continue to drive us forward in our goal to deliver excellent customer outcomes. This role provides a distinct opportunity to influence decisions that have significant impact across many major business functions at Wayfair. CB&S Analysts constantly use data to drive profitable top line revenue, while working cross-functionally to affect product selection, merchandising, operations, and marketing initiatives. Our Analysts play a key role in building cutting edge ‘Big Data’ and leveraging these unique, proprietary, and massive datasets, coupled with a constant flow of experimentation on consumer response, to answer thorny questions that guide our go-to-market strategy.

  • Effectively communicate actionable insights across a wide audience with varying technical expertise, including Senior Leadership and other partners in our Specialty Retail Brands, Exclusive Brands, and Physical Retail merchandising, marketing, and operations teams.
  • Approach broad and complex problems from a technical lens, supporting automation, big data management and comprehension, and predictive analytics and modeling to generate applicable insights and recommendations.
  • Leverage BI tooling to develop easily digestible and user friendly data visualizations, reporting, and data solutions, and train our partners on relevant applications to promote long term adoption of these products.
  • Ensure our merchandising, operations, marketing, and promotions partners have the tools, data, and reporting they need to make decisions, especially those around assortment creation, promotions, branding, and marketing.
  • Work closely with analytics and data engineering partners across all areas of the business to create accurate and high-impact solutions to address opportunity areas within the organization.
  • Grow and develop the team. Manage 2-3 direct reports and foster development of their technical and professional skillset.

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s Degree in analytics, statistics, economics, finance, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in a quantitative or analytical role
  • Strong consultative skills: ability to work effectively and persuasively with a highly cross- functional group of business partners
  • Strong business acumen: ability to understand how various parts of the business interact; can identify and approach problems from a customer or supplier perspective
  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills: excited about working with and synthesizing big data into actionable insights; comfortable using data software to conduct analyses and synthesize findings
  • Exceptional problem-solving and execution skills: ability to make decisions, reprioritize tasks, and draw conclusions in the face of ambiguity
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Expertise in SQL, in addition to other programming languages.
  • Demonstrated track record of developing advanced reporting in Google DataStudio, PowerBI or similar platforms.
