About This Role
As the Manager of Corporate Finance, you will play a pivotal role within our Corporate FP&A team, reporting directly to the Head of Corporate FP&A. You will have regular interactions with the Head of FP&A, CFO, and senior leaders across various functions, providing critical analytics for executive-level projects that seamlessly blend strategy and finance. Your key responsibilities will include managing the company’s Strategic Financial Trajectory (SFT/LRP), which encompasses extensive modeling and scenario planning. Your efforts will directly contribute to shaping the financial future of our organization and aligning our financial strategies with overarching business goals. In this role, you will be an integral part of the business structure, ensuring that financial insights drive strategic decision-making and foster growth.
What You’ll Do
- Lead Biogen’s medium and long-range planning efforts.
- Build and maintain Biogen’s corporate finance model to project and analyze impacts of product performance, R&D portfolio decisions, capital allocation strategy, and business development deals.
- Perform sum-of-the-parts valuation analysis, quantifying projected shareholder value creation under various scenarios.
- Communicate strategic opportunities and critical issues related to the company’s financial trajectory to senior management.
- Partner with Corporate Strategy leaders to align financial trajectory with strategic direction and future goals.
- Determine optimal return of excess capital to shareholders.
- Assess historical ROI to inform future investment decisions.
- Support Corporate Strategy team in prioritizing portfolio investments.
- Drive forecasting process improvement and automation.

Required Skills
- At least 5 years of finance experience, ideally in investment banking or another Pharm/Biotech company.
- Distinctive quantitative and modeling skills.
- Practical knowledge of financial theory and valuation methodologies.
- Ability to navigate and influence in a matrixed organizational structure.
- Excellent learning agility.
- Comfort with ambiguity.
- Ability to work under pressure and within short time constraints.
- High sense of urgency with ability to meet tight deadlines and flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
- Process improvement mindset.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of drug development and life sciences.
- Prior experience in investment banking or industry Biopharma.
- Experience with Hyperion planning systems.
Additional Information
Base salary offered is determined through an analytical approach utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location, and internal equity.
