KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for an experienced, detail-oriented professional to join the Bain Capital compensation team. This role will support our global non-investment teams which are comprised of approximately 1,000 employees in functional areas including but not limited to finance, information technology, human resources, investor relations, ESG, legal, facilities, communications, administration, and operations.

In this role, you will be assisting with compensation design, modeling and analysis, financial planning, competitive benchmarking, compensation planning/forecasting, and the management of the year-end and mid-year compensation salary and bonus cycles. This individual will collaborate with senior leadership including various business unit leaders, HRBPs and members of our Finance organization.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Participate in the development and execution of Bain Capital’s compensation strategy for our non-investment population, in alignment with the firm’s business goals and to ensure competitive and fair compensation practices.
  • Build and maintain competitive compensation structures and guide a consistent approach to pay decisions for all levels. Assist with developing related compensation program communications, reaching both leader and employee audiences.
  • Collaborate with business leaders and HRBP’s to provide leadership and guidance on annual compensation reviews, bonus planning, and carried interest grants as well as to develop competitive offers including base salary and incentive compensation.
  • Contribute to ongoing efforts enable greater utilization of technology and improve process efficiency in the delivery of compensation programs.
  • Assist in all financial analysis and reporting related to compensation on the P&L, including annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, long-term planning and liaising with the FP&A team as required.
  • Participate in team activities liaising with our Coinvest and GP teams on matters related to employee coinvest and carried interest awards.
  • Exercise critical thinking and excellent technical & business writing skills to synthesize the results of complex analysis into salient points important to senior leadership.  Make data-driven recommendations. Prepare analyses for executive meetings; attend and present when required.
  • Recommend appropriate solutions to specific compensation-related issues as needed to support the business.
  • Support administration of two annual compensation cycles (mid-year and year-end)
  • Respond to compensation data inquiries from managers and employees throughout the organization.
  • Manage and provide mentorship to junior compensation professionals to further growth of the team.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability synthesize and communicate complex information at all levels of the organization.
  • A contributor who can manage and be agile in a dynamic, fast-paced, hands-on culture with strong expectations on deliverables. Highly analytical experience coupled with ability to execute and communicate.
  • Possess an excellent attention to detail, is highly organized, and committed to quality.
  • Ability to develop and adapt compensation strategies that deliver on the unique needs of the business.
  • Strong analytic skills with the ability to gather key insights from quantitative and qualitative data to drive compensation decisions
  • Collaborative mindset with proven, strong communication, presentation and influencing skills – proficient on developing PowerPoint slides that “tell a story”
  • Demonstrated ability to manipulate, manage and formulate data in Excel utilizing advanced functionality.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple projects at once, meet deadlines, and handle confidential information with discretion.

DESIRED BACKGROUND / EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 8+years of progressive experience in an analytics-driven environment, that has provided a foundation in compensation strategy as well as solid understanding of financial reporting
  • Financial services industry is preferred
  • Experience with incentive plan design, equity programs, and prior experience with carried interest programs preferred
  • Solid understanding of financial concepts is strongly desired, MBA and/or CFA a plus
  • Prior experience with Workday, Power BI, and HR technology solutions a plus

Compensation:

Expected Annual Base Salary: $ 130k - $155k

Actual base salary will be determined by a wide range of factors including but not limited to role, function, level, experience, qualifications and geographic location. In addition to a competitive base salary, this position may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based upon factors such as individual impact, team and firm performance.
