What You'll Do
The Clinical Oncology Practice Optimization Lead will play a critical role in supporting the financial health and operational success of community oncology practices within the Flatiron network. This individual will serve as a subject matter expert at the intersection of clinical operations, billing, value-based care (VBC) and other quality programs. The role is designed for a clinical practice administrator (nurse or APP) with deep experience in oncology practice management, billing workflows, and reimbursement strategies. In additon you will:
Support Practice Financial Health
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for questions related to billing, MIPS, and other VBC programs that come through the support queue.
  • Provide guidance to practices on optimizing revenue streams, including drug reimbursement strategies and leveraging Flatiron product features.
  • Partner with practices to identify operational pain points and recommend best practices for financial performance.

Product & Workflow Enhancement
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Clinical teams to inform and test enhancements to billing workflows in OncoEMR and Flatiron Assist.
  • Represent the voice of the practice administrator in product discovery, scoping, development, rollout, and maintenance phases.
  • Surface real-world challenges from practices and translate them into actionable product requirements.

Education & Enablement
  • Develop and deliver educational resources (e.g., guides, webinars) to help practices maximize use of Flatiron's billing and reimbursement tools including Flatiron Assist and Drug Substitution.
  • Stay current on industry trends in oncology billing, reimbursement, and VBC; proactively share insights with internal teams and customers.

Drug Reimbursement & Substitution
  • Deeply understand how practices generate revenue through drug reimbursement.
  • Share strategies used across the industry to ensure appropriate reimbursement and how those can be applied using Flatiron's tools including tools like Drug Substitution.
  • Educate internal teams on practice financial priorities.
  • Work closely with clinical content and pharmacy optimization teams to ensure alignment between clinical workflows and financial outcomes.

Who You Are
You're a kind, passionate and collaborative problem-solver who values the opportunity to think beyond the way things are. You have 5+ years of experience in a community oncology setting and at least 3 years in practice administration & management. In addition:
  • You are an experienced practice administrator (nurse, pharmacist, or APP) from a community oncology setting, with a strong background in billing, reimbursement, and practice operations.
  • You have familiarity with the oncology treatment landscape including baseline understanding of the NCCN Guidelines.
  • You have demonstrated expertise in MIPS, VBC programs, and oncology-specific billing workflows.
  • You can confidently speak on the challenges facing community oncology practices and translate those challenges into opportunities to solution against.
  • You have deep familiarity with OncoEMR or similar oncology EHRs; experience with Flatiron Assist is a plus.
  • You have strong analytical skills; able to translate complex operational/financial challenges into actionable solutions.
  • You are an excellent communicator who can work cross-functionally with internal clinical, product, engineering, and customer-facing teams, as well as represent Flatiron in external forums.

Preferred Primary Location: NY hub
The annual pay range reflected above for this position is based on the preferred primary location of the role which is listed in the job description. Salary ranges for other locations vary from the range reflected above. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. An annual bonus and equity may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
