About the Role
As the leader of our business development representatives, you will serve as both a frontline contributor and team leader, responsible for driving engagement and enrollment from our clients' employees while leading a high-performing team of Business Development Representatives (BDRs). This role is ideal for someone who excels at leading by example with best-in-class direct outreach, thrives in a mission-driven environment, and is passionate about mentoring and enabling others to succeed. - Lead by example doing direct outreach to employees to model best practices, build relationships, and stay connected to the frontline experience.
- Partner cross-functionally to improve outreach strategies, messaging, and effectiveness by client and population type.
- Monitor team and individual KPIs, reporting performance trends and driving continuous improvement.
- Ensure consistent, high-quality documentation and use of tools like Outreach.io across the team.
- Identify training needs, support onboarding of new team members, and champion a culture of learning and growth.
How You’ll Spend Your Days
- Coach, support, and lead team members via modeling best practices, team meetings ad mentoring sessions, and collaborative problem-solving.
- Conduct outbound calls and emails directly to employees, modeling best practices in outreach and education.
- Partner with Marketing, Account Management and our Clinical team to tailor and evolve outreach strategies and messaging.
- Track and analyze team outreach and enrollment performance, proposing and implementing improvements.
- Provide support for complex or high-priority cases, helping the team navigate nuanced employee conversations.
- Stay hands-on in CRM documentation, reporting, and daily communications to remain connected to team workflows.
What You Bring to the Table
- 4+ years of experience in conducting outreach, inside sales, or employee engagement; 1+ year in a team lead or player/coach capacity.
- Ability to lead by example with an “I love this stuff” attitude, team-first mindset, and desire to mentor others.
- Proven success in driving enrollment, pipeline growth, or similar conversion metrics.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills — clear, compassionate, relatable, and persuasive.
- Experience in healthcare tech or benefits with direct end user engagement experience.
- Thrives in ambiguity: Creative problem-solving, structured thinking, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
