The M&A Associate will support M&A activities, including research, evaluation, due diligence, and execution of acquisitions in the software sector.

Partner One is looking for an M&A Associate. This is a full-time, permanent role.
The M&A Associate will be a part of the Mergers and Acquisition team and will be responsible for supporting activities related to research, evaluation, due diligence, and execution of acquisitions.
Responsibilities
- Identify software businesses meeting our acquisition criteria and specific metrics
- Develop and conduct prospecting campaigns via email and outbound calls, and generate new methods of business development
- Nurture relationships with prospective targets and sell-side M&A Investment Banking firms
- Lead Preliminary evaluation of potential acquisitions that may include some level of business/financial due diligence and preliminary opportunities and risks assessment
- Manage a robust deal pipeline which should be updated on a regular basis as new targets are added, and as new information becomes available.
- Conduct industry and market research to understand industry trends and identify new opportunities.
- Review and analyze investment presentations, taking a large amount of data and converting said information into concise and effective presentations
- Spearhead acquisition opportunities independently, understand the scope of the deals and perpetuate the deal process forward
- Delegate tasks accordingly based on deal priorities
- Support the team internally with ad-hoc asks
- Collaborate and coordinate with cross-functional teams for data requests, information sharing, due diligence, projects, team meetings and deal execution
Requirements
- 2-3 years of experience in Investment Banking, Private Equity, or Corporate Development is a must
- Previous experience with Software M&A
- Demonstrated strong academic performance at a top-tier institution
- An undergraduate degree in business is viewed favourably
- Exhibits professional maturity and presence with C-level executive interactions
- Proactive, hungry and self-directed individual with strong sales and communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Thorough understanding of accounting fundamentals and financial modeling fluency
- An understanding of software business technicals and basic software M&A transaction process
- Strong analytical, pattern recognition and Excel skills
