About the role

As a Low-Code Automation Engineer at Ruby Labs, you will be responsible for driving operational efficiency and innovation within Finance processes. You will leverage advanced low-code platforms and visual development tools to design and implement automation solutions that streamline finance workflows, reduce manual involvement in accounts payable, accounts receivable, inter-company transaction reconciliation, and accelerate month-end processes. Your mandate is to convert complex finance team needs into scalable, automated systems that enhance efficiency and finance operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and maintain automation workflows at finance using platforms such as N8N, Make, or Zapier to optimize finance processes such as invoice recording, reconciliation of intracompany transactions, implement automated bank payment workflows, suggesting other automatization solutions for finance team needs.

  • Streamline corporate card payment processing and Sage Intacct integration to improve the current manual process of handling card payments by investigating automation options for expense splitting and Sage Intacct integration, reducing manual data entry and calculation errors.

  • Establish a standardized and transparent month-end close process with a shared checklist, task ownership, and real-time progress tracking.

  • Analyze current finance operations to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and repetitive tasks, then translate these findings into robust low-code solutions.

  • Partner closely with the Finance team, and operations teams to align automation initiatives with finance goals.

  • Establish and maintain best practices for low-code development in finance team environment, including documentation, change management, and stakeholder training.

Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience with low-code platforms (e.g., N8N, Make, Zapier, Tooljet, Bubble) and automation frameworks, with a focus on finance use cases.

  • Proficient in JavaScript for scripting and custom logic within low-code environments.

  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs, webhooks, and authentication protocols commonly used in finance systems (e.g., OAuth, API tokens).

  • Experience conducting functional testing, user acceptance testing, and iterative deployment cycles to ensure solution reliability.

  • Strong stakeholder communication skills – able to translate finance needs into technical solutions and collaborate effectively with both tech and non-tech audiences.

  • Self-starter with a process-improvement mindset and a bias for action in a fast-paced finance tech environment.

Nice to have
  • Previous exposure to finance software (e.g., Sage Intacct, Airwallex (or other online banks) or and their API ecosystems.

  • Skills in working with modern AI tools (AI agents, MCP).

  • Understanding of corporate finance systems and processes and experience building automation to surface these KPIs.

Location

Ruby Labs operates within the CET (Central European Time) zone. Applicants from any country are welcome to apply for the position as long as they are located within approximately ± 4 hours of CET. This ensures optimal collaboration and communication during working hours.
