Seneca Federal Health and our partner, GPS, is looking to hire an experienced Logistics Support Specialist to support the NMHM Logistics Management Supervisor with planning, programming, coordinating, and executing logistics, facility, and administrative support functions consisting of, but not limited to, acquisition, inventory, property accountability, and warehouse management.
This position is on location at the National Museum of Health and Medicine and its Collections Management Facility in Silver Spring, Maryland. NMHM’s mission is to preserve and explore the impact of military medicine.
Roles and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Supports the NMHM Logistics Management Supervisor in functional areas to include logistics, facility services, safety, physical security, event, and administrative support.
- Assists with warehouse inventory and excess management, as directed.
- requests for all First Aid stations, Automated External Deliberator (AED’s), Torniquet stations, fire extinguishers, and general supply requirements within both buildings.
- Weekly/monthly check for serviceability and sign inspection tags of all eyewashes and fire extinguishers.
- Performs, daily Random-Access Measure (RAMs) security surveillance rounds in and around both buildings in the morning and before leaving, looking for safety, security, mechanical issues, or unsafe conditions.
- Performs monthly panic button tests in coordination with PMO.
- After weekly/monthly testing of each building, document all backup generator fuel levels provided by the maintenance contractor.
- Routinely inspect buildings for cleanliness, lighting, temperature control, maintenance, safety, security issues, and report problems to the Supervisor. As required, liaison with the maintenance contractor, to communicate, call in, or email messages to schedule or create service tickets for service support.
- Enter/retrieve facility project data into MS Excel spreadsheets and Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support System (DMLSS), Facilities Module to track facility project status, prioritization, and related issues.
- Performs market research and prepares acquisition documentation for requirements, as directed.
- Serves as alternate driver. Pick up and deliver packages from various locations as, directed. required.
- Performs routine inspections of buildings, monitoring cleanliness, lighting, temperature, safety etc. and report problems. May include staffing and reporting of entry/exit points to ensure appropriate coordination of those entering or exiting structures.
- Receives requests from staff for alterations, repairs or minor construction and meets with appropriate staff members to understand the scope of the project.
- Assist the Facility Manager to ensure contractors work within museum established guidelines to safeguard and ensure minimal impact on artifacts and visitor experience.
- Assists the Facility Manager organizing, scheduling and controlling maintenance activities maximizing building functionality and minimizing disruption to Museum operations.
- Assist the Facility Manager ensuring contractor’s work is IAW Museum established guidelines and minimal impact on artifacts and visitor experience.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Facility Management, Supply Chain Management, or similar advanced studies preferred
Experience:
- 4 years’ experience gained through performing, logistics, facility management, and administrative functions
- Strong knowledge of acquisition management, property accountability, receiving, warehouse management, and the electrical and or mechanical trades, safety, security, and standard customer service practices.
- Preparing operating procedures e., developing, administering, monitoring, and coordinating a wide variety of maintenance actions.
- Knowledge of other trades, crafts, manual-labor
- Demonstrably excellent customer communications
- Knowledge of museum practices, security, and standard customer service practices
- Strong written and oral skills
- Proven experience using the Defense Medical Logistics Standard System (DMLSS) to input, manipulate, and retrieve data and information relative to logistics and facility management activities.
The projected salary range for this position is $60,000 to $65,000 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component the total rewards package.
