The Logistics Strategy Specialist plays a critical role in the development, implementation, and optimization of logistics strategies for the organization. This individual will analyze and improve the logistics processes, ensuring the efficient and cost-effective movement of goods and services. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design logistics solutions that support business objectives, improve supply chain performance, and meet customer demands. 


Key Responsibilities: 


Strategy Development & Implementation: 


Develop, implement, and refine logistics strategies to optimize transportation, warehousing, and distribution networks. 


Analyze supply chain and logistics data to identify areas of improvement and implement cost-saving initiatives. 


Create roadmaps for logistics operations that align with broader company objectives and market trends. 


Process Optimization: 


Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in logistics operations and develop solutions to enhance performance. 


Leverage technology and tools to automate and streamline logistics processes. 


Develop and implement best practices for inventory management, route planning, and distribution. 


Data Analysis & Reporting: 


Collect and analyze key performance metrics related to logistics activities, such as delivery times, cost per unit, and inventory turnover. 


Provide regular reports and insights to senior management on logistics performance and progress toward goals. 


Conduct market research to stay up-to-date on logistics trends, innovations, and best practices. 


Collaboration & Cross-functional Coordination: 


Work closely with other departments, such as procurement, operations, sales, and customer service, to ensure alignment in logistics strategy. 


Collaborate with external vendors and partners to ensure optimal logistics solutions and service levels. 


Communicate effectively with stakeholders to implement changes and keep all parties informed on logistics initiatives. 


Risk Management & Compliance: 


Identify potential risks in logistics and supply chain operations (e.g., transportation delays, regulatory changes) and develop mitigation strategies. 


Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and sustainability practices. 


Develop contingency plans to address unforeseen disruptions or challenges in logistics operations. 


Cost Management & Budgeting: 


Work within budget constraints to ensure that logistics operations remain cost-efficient. 


Continuously evaluate opportunities to reduce logistics-related costs without compromising on service quality. 


Technology and Tools: 


Stay current with logistics technology, including software for route optimization, warehouse management, and supply chain analytics. 


Assess and recommend tools that can improve logistics operations and support decision-making. 


Qualifications: 


Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., APICS, Six Sigma) is a plus. 


5-8 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or operations, with a focus on strategy and optimization. 


Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with large datasets and derive actionable insights. 


Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working across teams and managing external partnerships. 


Proficiency in logistics and supply chain management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar tools) and Microsoft Office Suite. 


Strong knowledge of industry trends, technologies, and best practices.

Work Environment: 


The Logistics Strategy Specialist may be required to travel to various facilities, warehouses, or vendor locations. 


Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, balancing multiple projects simultaneously. 


Reporting to: VP of Operations  


This role is vital in shaping the logistics strategy that drives operational excellence, supports customer satisfaction, and contributes to the company's overall growth and profitability.
