About Plasmidsaurus

Plasmidsaurus is on a mission to accelerate new cures and promote a healthier planet by unlocking a new level of productivity for scientists. Our sequencing services are used daily by thousands of innovators, including Nobel laureates, Fortune 100 pharma, and over 70,000 scientists.

We began by revolutionizing plasmid sequencing, making it exponentially cheaper and faster, with innovative sequencing technologies and a global network of laboratories that turn samples into answers in hours, not weeks.

Now we are expanding that same disruptive model across all of genomics. With the launch of our new RNA-seq service, we are taking a bold step toward our vision to sequence everything, providing scientists everywhere with faster, simpler, and more affordable access to the data that powers discovery.

Every team member at Plasmidsaurus plays a crucial role in driving the future of biotech research. Together, we are building the world’s most efficient sequencing engine that operates overnight, scales globally, and helps scientists make breakthroughs faster than ever before.

Plasmidsaurus | LOUISVILLE, KY or BOSTON, MA

We are seeking a Logistics Coordinator to oversee and optimize the movement of DNA samples from customers to our labs. This role is based out of our Louisville, KY or Boston, MA lab and will take ownership of regional logistics —scaling and optimizing our dropbox network, proactively resolving shipping challenges, and leading relationships with some of our most important partner couriers. You’ll have a key role in negotiating rates, refining operational processes, and driving efficiency across the supply chain. This is an opportunity for an experienced last mile logistics professional to have a direct and measurable impact on the speed, reliability, and scalability of operations that power next-generation science.

This is a hybrid role based out of our Louisville, Kentucky or Boston, MA lab, with an expectation of 3 days a week in the office, either Monday, Wednesday, and Friday or Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. You will be asked to confirm your availability upon application.

What You’ll Do
  • Expand our logistics network

  • Coordinate the installation and scheduling of dropboxes at biotech hubs, universities, and research centers globally

  • Work with customer and facility contacts to gather necessary details and access permissions for dropboxes

  • Expand our logistics network into new cities in the US and around the world

  • Collaborate with the revenue team to design and execute regional strategies for expanding and optimizing dropbox and courier networks

  • Track shipments and resolve delivery issues

    • Help identify and mitigate risks to the reliability of the shipping network

    • Monitor shipments and proactively address any delays

    • Respond to customer inquiries about shipping issues

    • Serve as a liaison between customers, labs, couriers, and internal teams to ensure smooth operations

  • Drive supply chain and operational efficiency

    • Harness logistics data to fine-tune our network for maximum speed

    • Develop and implement data-driven pricing models to strengthen leverage in courier negotiations and optimize long-term cost structures

    • Drive supply chain continuity by proactively ensuring dropboxes and materials are optimally distributed across key locations

    • Contribute to process improvements in shipping, receiving, and sample management

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field

  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, or operations coordination, preferably in a biotech, life sciences, or technology environment

  • Experience with logistics software or inventory management systems

  • IATA certified and familiarity with international shipping regulations and compliance requirements (e.g., cold chain logistics, biohazard materials), preferred

  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and with external partners

  • Proactive problem-solver with a keen ability to anticipate and mitigate challenges

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, start-up environment with rapidly changing priorities

  • Knowledge of last mile supply chain solutions preferred

  • Knowledge of DNA sequencing technologies or related fields in life sciences or biotechnology preferred

  • Knowledge and experience working with UPS, and other major carriers

We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't perfectly align with the job description as we seek out diverse and creative perspectives. Team members who love to learn and collaborate in an inclusive environment will thrive with us. We are an equal opportunity employer and do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.
