We are seeking a detail-oriented and bilingual Localization Specialist (English to French Canadian) to support the conversion and adaptation of eLearning courses for our Canadian workforce. The successful candidate will be responsible for localizing instructional content, ensuring both linguistic accuracy and cultural relevance for French Canadian learners.

Location: Bay Area, CA or REMOTE

Pay: $25/hour+ (Based on experience) plus benefits

Long Term Contract Position

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate and localize eLearning content from English to French Canadian, including instructional text, assessments, interactions, and multimedia elements.
  • Adapt culturally sensitive material to ensure alignment with French Canadian norms, idioms, and regulatory requirements.
  • Input and format translated content directly into an eLearning platform, ensuring the integrity of layout, navigation, and learner interactivity.
  • Collaborate with Instructional Designers, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and L&D leads to ensure content meets learning objectives and regional compliance.
  • Conduct thorough quality assurance (QA) on localized courses to ensure linguistic precision and functional consistency.
  • Maintain localization glossaries, translation memory, and style guides to ensure brand and tone consistency.
  • Provide feedback on localization workflows and tools to help enhance overall efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements
  • Fluency in English and native-level French Canadian (written and spoken).
  • 2+ years of experience in content localization, translation, or instructional design.
  • Strong attention to detail with a proven ability to deliver high-quality translations under tight deadlines.
  • Understanding of instructional design principles and adult learning methodologies is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Canadian workplace regulations, terminology, and cultural context.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills; able to work cross-functionally in a remote environment.

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and how they apply to eLearning localization.
  • Background in corporate training, HR, or compliance-driven content.
  • Prior experience working on eLearning platforms to localize training content.
