About Splash

Splash Sports is the leading peer-to-peer sports gaming platform, offering real-money contests across 40+ states. From Survivor and Pick 'Em to QuickPicks, we're building contests for every type of fan.

Backed by top investors including Accomplice, Boston Seed, Dream Ventures, Elysian Park Ventures, Velvet Sea Ventures, and owners across the NFL, NHL, MLB, and Premier League, we're scaling fast. Our mission is simple but ambitious: bring people closer together through the gamification of live sports - and we're just getting started.

Why Splash
  • Work directly with a fast-moving team at a venture-backed sports gaming startup.
  • Own one of the highest-leverage growth functions in the business. Retention is where the next chapter of Splash gets written.
  • Real ownership end to end. You build the strategy, you ship the campaigns, you read the data, you iterate. No agency layers, no babysitters.
  • Direct line of sight to the metrics that matter. Your work moves PUMAs, retention rates, and LTV every single week.
Location

This is a fully remote position for candidates residing within the U.S.

The Role

If you can map a user journey, segment a database, write a push notification that converts, and read an A/B test result without flinching, keep reading.

Splash's Marketing team is looking for a Lifecycle Marketing Manager to own how we communicate with every player on the platform. You'll report into our Lifecycle & Retention Marketing lead and run lifecycle day to day as both the strategist and the hands-on operator. That means building journeys that turn first-time depositors into habitual monthly players, campaigns that reactivate lapsed users at the start of every season, and segmented sends that maximize entries on the biggest contest weekends of the year.

You'll own Braze. You'll own email, push, in-app messaging, webhooks, and more. You'll design the segmentation logic, build the canvases, write the copy, brief the design, QA and ship the work, and read the results. You'll partner closely with paid media on new user activation, with content on always-on engagement, and with product on in-app conversion flows.

This is not a "send the weekly newsletter" role. This person closes the biggest gap in our growth engine: turning the users we acquire into players who come back.

What You'll Do

Strategy & Journey Design

  • Own Splash's lifecycle strategy - new user onboarding, activation, conversion, retention, reactivation, and VIP. Build the journey map and ship against it.
  • Design and build sophisticated user journeys in Braze using Canvas, with logic for sport, contest type, deposit history, recency, and behavior.
  • Build the lifecycle calendar against the sports schedule - NFL kickoff, March Madness, NBA Playoffs, Masters, World Cup - and align messaging to the moments that drive entry volume.
  • Partner with the Senior Growth team on cohort-based testing strategies that move 30-day and 90-day retention.

Campaign Execution

  • Build, QA, and ship campaigns across email, push, SMS, in-app messages, and webhooks. You write the brief, follow a pre-send QA checklist, and ship the work.
  • Own copy for lifecycle messaging and nail the Splash brand voice. Work with compliance so copy is reviewed before it ships.
  • Brief design and partner with the team on visual assets that move open rates and click-through.
  • Manage segmentation against our Segment / Snowflake / Braze stack. Pull the right users for the right message every time.

Measurement & Optimization

  • Own lifecycle reporting. Open rates, CTR, conversion rate, unsubscribe rate, retention impact, incremental revenue. Track it weekly.
  • Run structured A/B tests on subject lines, send times, segmentation, offers, and creative. Clean hypotheses, clean reads.
  • Partner with the Data Analyst on attribution clarity and incrementality measurement so we know what lifecycle is actually contributing.
  • Identify the biggest retention leaks in the funnel and ship campaigns specifically to plug them.
What You'll Bring
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on lifecycle, CRM, or retention marketing experience in a consumer app, gaming, DTC, or fintech environment.
  • Deep Braze expertise. You've built Canvases, designed segments, run multivariate tests, and shipped at volume. If you've only used Iterable or Customer.io, you'll need to learn Braze fast.
  • Strong copywriting instincts. You can write a push notification that converts, an email that gets opened, and an in-app message that doesn't feel like spam.
  • Real fluency in segmentation logic. You think in cohorts, recency-frequency-monetary buckets, and behavioral triggers. Not "blast everyone."
  • Comfortable in data. You can pull your own segment sizes, read your own performance reports, and build your own dashboards. You don't wait for a data analyst to tell you how your last campaign performed.
  • Strong understanding of retention dynamics in a consumer app. You know what activation, repeat rate, and churn look like, and you have opinions on how to move them.
  • High degree of personal agency. You don't wait to be told what to send. You see a retention dip, you design the campaign, you ship it.
  • You use AI tools daily for copywriting, segmentation analysis, journey ideation, and reporting. If AI isn't already embedded in your workflow, this probably isn't the right role.
  • Avid sports fan. You follow the games, understand the culture, and can instinctively recognize what will land with a sports audience.
  • Passion for fantasy sports and real-money contests is a major plus. You must get why winning $1,000,000 from a $25 entry in a Survivor contest is a massive headline, and you know how to frame a big win in lifecycle copy.
Nice to Have
  • Experience with Braze Canvas Flow, Liquid templating, and webhook orchestration.
  • Familiarity with Segment, Snowflake, dbt, and the modern data stack.
  • Experience marketing to a sports betting, DFS, or real-money gaming audience.
  • SQL skills strong enough to pull your own segments without going through the data team.
  • Background scaling a lifecycle program from early stage to mature at a consumer app.
How We Work

Splash provides the AI environment. You bring the domain expertise, curiosity, and adaptability.

Compensation & Benefits

As a Splash team member, you'll receive a comprehensive compensation and benefits package that includes:

  • A competitive annual salary range of $105,000 to $135,000. This range may be modified, and final compensation may vary based on experience and skill level.
  • Potential to earn equity in the company
  • Medical, Dental, & Vision Insurance
  • 401K/Retirement Plan Options
  • Flexible PTO
  • Annual company retreats & team offsites
  • A work from home stipend
  • Frequent company-wide games with cash prizes
  • An exciting opportunity to be a part of the fast-growing fantasy sports industry, where you'll help drive the growth of a platform used by millions of fans across the country!

Splash is committed to creating an inclusive work environment. We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer and will consider all qualified applicants regardless of gender, gender identity, race, religion, color, nationality, ethnic origin, sexual orientation, marital status, veteran status, age or disability.
