Job Summary

Life Sciences CRM Solution Architect responsible for end-to-end solution design and architectural leadership for commercial CRM engagements across the pharmaceutical and biotech industry. This role brings deep experience with Veeva CRM and/or IQVIA OCE alongside strong Salesforce platform architecture skills to lead discovery, design, and delivery of CRM solutions that support commercial field operations, medical affairs, and patient engagement. The architect defines integration strategy across CRM, data platforms, and commercial systems, produces solution documentation, supports presales solutioning, and provides technical leadership across delivery teams. As the industry transitions toward Salesforce Life Sciences Cloud, this role also contributes to platform modernization strategy and migration planning. This is a senior, client-facing individual contributor role. U.S. or Canada based. Fully remote with occasional travel possible for client workshops or strategic engagements.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end solution architecture for commercial CRM engagements built on Veeva CRM, IQVIA OCE, and/or Salesforce Life Sciences Cloud.
  • Architect CRM solutions supporting core commercial pharma use cases: call planning and execution, sample management, territory and alignment management, approved email, CLM/content delivery, KOL engagement, and medical inquiry routing.
  • Define CRM data models, object relationships, and configuration strategies aligned to commercial operations workflows and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead client-facing discovery, requirements workshops, and design sessions; translate business requirements into clear functional and technical solution designs.
  • Define integration architecture and patterns across CRM and external systems including data warehouses, MDM platforms, commercial data providers (IQVIA, Symphony Health, Komodo), Veeva Vault, and downstream analytics platforms.
  • Design API-led connectivity patterns (REST/SOAP), event-driven integrations (Platform Events, Change Data Capture), and batch/ETL data flows; coordinate with MuleSoft or middleware teams on implementation.
  • Architect data ingestion, transformation, and synchronization strategies for pharma data sets including prescriber/HCP data, affiliations, Rx/NRx, formulary, and specialty data.
  • Own solution documentation including solution design documents, architecture diagrams, data flow specifications, integration contracts, and configuration decisions.
  • Define and review Salesforce security architecture (profiles, permission sets, sharing rules, field-level security) and automation strategy (Flows, Apex where required).
  • Drive environment strategy, CI/CD governance, and deployment readiness (Git, SFDX, Copado/Gearset or equivalent).
  • Provide technical leadership across onshore and offshore delivery teams through design reviews, build guidance, and quality gates.
  • Support presales solutioning and scoping including level-of-effort estimates, delivery approach, assumptions, risks, and implementation roadmaps for CRM engagements.
  • Contribute to platform modernization strategy, including Veeva CRM to Salesforce Life Sciences Cloud migration planning, readiness assessments, and transition architecture.
  • Support regulated life sciences delivery needs including validation readiness, auditability, change control, and release governance.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of CRM and/or Salesforce platform experience with 3+ years in a Solution Architect, Technical Lead, or Architecture role.
  • Hands-on experience architecting and delivering Veeva CRM and/or IQVIA OCE solutions for commercial pharma or biotech organizations.
  • Strong understanding of commercial pharmaceutical operations: field force management, call planning, sample management, territory alignment, KOL engagement, approved email, CLM, and medical affairs workflows.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of pharma commercial data ecosystems: HCP/HCO master data, prescriber data (IQVIA, Symphony Health), Rx/NRx, affiliations, specialty classification, and formulary data.
  • Strong experience designing integrations (REST/SOAP APIs, event-driven patterns, batch/ETL) and coordinating with middleware teams (MuleSoft or equivalent).
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of the Salesforce platform including data modeling, security architecture, automation (Flows), and working knowledge of Apex/LWC sufficient to make design tradeoffs and guide developers.
  • Experience producing and maintaining solution documentation used by technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting Agile delivery teams and driving implementation through requirements, build, test, and release.
  • Strong client-facing skills: facilitation, clear written communication, executive-ready storytelling, and the ability to manage ambiguity without formal authority.

Required Salesforce Certifications

  • Salesforce Certified Platform Administrator
  • Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I

Nice to Have

  • Salesforce architect-track certifications: Integration Architecture Designer, Data Architecture and Management Designer, Identity and Access Management Designer, or Application Architect.
  • Salesforce Certified Technical Architect (CTA).
  • Experience with Salesforce Life Sciences Cloud, including migration planning from Veeva CRM or IQVIA OCE.
  • Experience with Salesforce Data Cloud (identity resolution, segmentation, activation, data model design).
  • Experience with Veeva Vault (PromoMats, MedComms, QualityDocs) and/or Veeva Network.
  • MuleSoft experience and/or certification (MuleSoft Certified Developer – Level 1, Mule 4).
  • Exposure to GxP-regulated or validated environments (validation documentation, traceability, test evidence, audit readiness).
  • Experience supporting patient services, hub operations, or advanced/cell and gene therapy commercial models.
  • Platform Developer II certification.
