Thrasio is seeking an amazing patent attorney to be a part of our IP team! As a member, you will work on a broad spectrum of intellectual property matters.

Reponsibilities:

• Manage Thrasio’s patent portfolio.
• Work with engineering and product teams to identify and harvest inventions, and supporting certain aspects of M&A, litigation, pre-litigation IP disputes, employment and compliance matters, as needed.
• This position is remote but is envisioned to require flexible yet regular presence in Salt Lake City, UT and Houston, TX .
• This position reports to the Assistant General Counsel, Head of Intellectual Property 

What you bring to the party:

• Minimum five (5+) years
• J.D. and license to practice law in at least one state
• Patent Attorney registered with the USPTO.
• Education: Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school
• Work Experience: Minimum 5-6 years experience in law firm or in-house setting practicing as an attorney working on patent-related matters.
• Prior corporate in-house experience, is highly preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Legal experience in one or more relevant intellectual practice areas, such as patent prosecution, IP transactions and licensing, open source, patent litigation and pre-litigation IP disputes, trade secrets, copyrights, and trademarks. Broad patent prosecution experience; patent licensing or patent litigation experience in a CPG environment is a major plus.
• Proven aptitude for working across the full spectrum of intellectual property and technology matters.
• Excellent business judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment and take ownership of projects from inception to completion.
• Background in computer science, computer engineering, or other relevant technical fields preferred. Coding and data science ability and interest in analytics a major plus.
