Position Summary
An exciting opportunity for a law student interested in law, innovation, and community building. This role blends legal research and writing with communications and marketing support to help advance Onit’s content and community programming.
In this role you will:
- Research, evaluate, and write engaging content for our community, including topics such as AI trends in the legal industry, legal operations, and the future of the legal profession
- Support Onit’s Community Manager and VP of Community and AI Transformation in executing content and program initiatives
- Help keep our community at the forefront of legal innovation and the evolving AI landscape
- Gain exposure to leaders across legal, legal operations, and legal technology through community engagement and events
Key Responsibilities:
- 16 hours per week
- Research and pitch content ideas across legal, AI, legal tech, legal ops topics
- Maintain a content calendar and write original content across a range of formats, including:
- Blog posts and blog series
- Social media posts (LinkedIn)
- Interviews and Q&As
- Newsletters
- Checklists, guides, and playbooks
- Ebooks and longer-form assets
- Manage and grow our social media presence by promoting content
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop CLE-accredited webinars/sessions and related materials
- Comfortable with light graphic design work in Canva and adhering to brand & style guidelines; work with internal graphic designer, as needed, on larger projects
- Use website data to understand what is resonating and to inform future topics and formats
- General support tasks as needed
Required Skills:
- Currently in 2nd year of Law School onwards
- Strong interest or any experience in AI, legal tech and/or technology law
- Strong interest or any experience in marketing, content writing and/or community building
- Excellent research and writing skills for a legal audience in a community/ educational tone.
- Comfort working across multiple content formats, from short-form social posts to long-form written pieces
- A self-starter who can jump in, work independently, and generate ideas without heavy direction
- Strong attention to detail, time management and organization skills
- People skills and enjoy interacting with GCs, Legal operations professionals, and lawyers in our community
