Corcentric's Legal Department is seeking a law student to participate in its Fall 2026 Legal Externship Program. This academic externship is available exclusively through approved law school externship programs and is intended to provide students with practical, hands-on experience working alongside in-house counsel in a corporate legal department.
The extern will have the opportunity to observe and contribute to a variety of legal matters, including commercial contracting, legal research, compliance initiatives, privacy and data protection projects, and legal operations. The program is designed to complement classroom instruction by exposing students to the day-to-day responsibilities of in-house counsel in a business environment.
Responsibilities
The legal extern may assist attorneys with:
- Reviewing and summarizing commercial agreements.
- Conducting legal and regulatory research.
- Drafting legal memoranda, summaries, and business-facing guidance materials.
- Assisting with contract drafting and redlining projects.
- Supporting privacy, compliance, and governance initiatives.
- Reviewing vendor due diligence and risk management materials.
- Participating in meetings with legal and business stakeholders.
- Assisting with special projects related to corporate legal operations and policy development.
Requirements
- Current J.D. student enrolled at an accredited law school.
- Eligible to receive academic credit through the student's law school's externship program.
- Strong research, writing, analytical, and communication skills.
- Interest in corporate, commercial, technology, privacy, or compliance law.
