About the Company

Why We Built Lyric: Supply chains are more critical and complex than ever. Every day, large enterprises navigate trillions of possible decisions that could impact the bottom line. Powerful algorithms and AI can address these problems, yet most organizations struggle to leverage supply chain AI at scale. The current SCM technologies are either rigid, limited-scope point solutions or custom solutions built in-house, which demand immense expertise and investment.

That is…until now.

Enter Lyric: Lyric is an enterprise AI platform built specifically for supply chains, offering the best of both worlds:

  • Out-of-the-box AI solutions for optimizing networks, allocating inventory, scheduling routes, planning fulfillment capacity, promising orders, propagating demand, building predictions, analyzing scenarios, and more, plus

  • A platform-first approach that empowers both business and technical users with end-to-end product composability, leveraging no-code tools, their own code, or even forking our code to build and refine supply chain decision intelligence

With Lyric, enterprises no longer have to choose between flexibility and speed, they get both.

The Mission: We’re building a new era in supply chain with the team best equipped to lead it. With over 20 years at the intersection of supply chain and algorithms, we developed a deep conviction that global supply chains needed something like Lyric. Since our inception in December 2021, that conviction has been validated time and time again.

Today, a growing number of Fortune 500 companies, including Smurfit WestRock, Estée Lauder, Coca-Cola, Nike, and more, are innovating on their own terms with Lyric. We can’t wait to see what our customers, both current and future, are empowered to build with us next. Come build with us!

About the Role

We are seeking a sharp, business-minded legal partner to join Lyric as our first Legal Counsel, reporting directly to the Head of Finance. You’ll be responsible for building and leading Lyric’s legal function from the ground up, with a focus on supporting our global enterprise growth and ensuring our business operates with both speed and confidence. As our go-to expert for commercial contracts and compliance, you’ll set the bar for negotiating with large enterprises, balancing risk with opportunity, and protecting Lyric’s long-term interests.

From drafting and negotiating complex SaaS agreements to advising on data privacy, compliance, and corporate governance, you’ll design the legal frameworks and playbooks that keep our deals moving and our house in order. You’ll partner closely with Sales, Finance, Product, and HR to close enterprise contracts, safeguard intellectual property, and ensure our legal operations can scale as quickly as our business.

This is a high-impact, hands-on role where no two days will look the same. You’ll shape how our legal function operates, collaborate with teams across the US and India, and establish scalable processes that reflect the innovation and agility of Lyric itself. If you’re excited to build from the ground up, negotiate at the highest level, and lead with both pragmatism and vision, we’d love to hear from you.

What You’ll Do

  • Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements with Fortune 500 companies (MSAs, SaaS agreements, licensing, DPAs, NDAs, partnership agreements, etc.)

  • Work closely with Sales to structure and close deals, balancing legal risk with business needs

  • Advise on data privacy, security, and regulatory compliance issues relevant to AI, SaaS, and enterprise software

  • Develop playbooks, templates, and scalable processes for a lean but high-impact legal function

  • Partner with outside counsel on specialized matters (e.g., international compliance, employment law)

  • Collaborate with Finance, Product, and HR on issues including vendor contracts, employment law, and IP protection

  • Provide guidance on corporate governance, board matters, and internal policies as needed

About You

  • JD degree and an active license to practice law in the US

  • 6+ years of legal experience, ideally with a mix of law firm and in-house (fast-growing SaaS/enterprise software experience strongly preferred)

  • Demonstrated success negotiating complex, high-value commercial agreements with large enterprises

  • Strong understanding of SaaS, AI/ML, data privacy, and related regulatory frameworks

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex legal concepts into practical business advice

  • Demonstrated ability to handle diverse legal matters independently while maintaining excellent judgment

Location: Remote - US

Compensation: The base cash compensation range for this position is $170,000 - $200,000. Base cash will be determined based on years of experience, with an additional 20% variable compensation that is earned based on individual & business performance. You will also have the opportunity to receive equity in Lyric
