The Move, Inc. operator or Realtor.com, Legal Department has an opening for an attorney with year’s experience. The desired candidate will have a combination of in-house counsel and top-tier law firm experience. The Senior Counsel will report directly to the Executive Vice President and General Counsel and will be a member of a small and congenial law department. The position will be located in Austin, Texas, Realtor.com's headquarters.
The Legal Counsel acts as an advisor to assigned business units to provide creative solutions to business and legal issues. The right candidate will have exceptional drafting and negotiating skills, good analytical and practical problem solving skills, and strong business judgment.
What You'll Do
- Provide legal advice and support to various stakeholders
- Negotiating, drafting and reviewing contracts with internal clients, suppliers, strategic partners and other parties
- Coordinates with external counsel when required
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations
- Advise on corporate governance matters
- Conduct legal research and keep abreast of legislative changes
- Develop and implement legal policies and procedures
What You'll Bring:
- JD Degree from an ABA approved law school
- Member of the Texas Bar Association
- 3-7 years of experience in a top tier law firm and/or in-house legal with business transactional experience
- Technology experience is highly preferred
- Ability to analyze and research complex legal issues and translate such research and analysis into practical and effective advice
- Excellent risk assessment, problem solving abilities, and exceptional business judgement
- Ability to support various business units
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and the ability to work in a fast paced in-house environment
- Local residents preferred. unable to offer relocation assistance
- Ability to work a minimum 3 days a week out of our Austin HQ
