Primary Purpose:
The Learning Specialist II manages the development and implementation of leadership and training programs. This role drives performance improvement and organizational effectiveness through learning solutions for individuals, groups, and systems, in alignment with organizational strategy.
Our flexible/hybrid work schedule includes 3 in-person days at one of our core locations and 2 remote days. Our core office locations for this role are: Quincy MA, Scarborough ME, Salisbury NC, Carlisle PA and Chicago, IL.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Acts as a strategic business partner and learning advocate for the business, consulting with HR Business Partners on learning needs
- Manages assigned projects from analysis to implementation; may direct other project members, providing assignments and feedback
- Works with Lead and/or Manager to develop curriculum and courses to meet business needs
- Formulates learning objectives by understanding goals of the business
- Assesses needs, writes an outline, and recommends the learning channel
- Works with business partners to gather content
- Develops learning tools and courses
- Oversees pilot and industrialization
- Makes adjustments based on feedback and measurable results
- Creates targeted reskilling and upskilling development programs based on the strategic workforce plan
- Facilitates and coordinates leadership and technical workshops for business associates
- Manages the transfer of training through supervisor involvement
- Directs the development of the annual training calendar to fulfill requirements and objectives consistent with core curriculum in each functional area
- Consults on developmental plans for associates by partnering with HR Business Partners to understand specific learning objectives based on observed versus desired behaviors
- Develops gap analyses of current training provided versus desired competency development
- Based on analysis, maps new curriculum, assesses current resources, and customizes developmental modules to provide comprehensive curriculum
- Creates reports to monitor team objectives based on direction from the Lead and Learning Manager (for example, progress on participation in key learning opportunities)
- Assists with creation of post-learning or post-event surveys and analysis of data
- Provides insights to the Lead on the status of objectives
- Additional job duties may be assigned as needed to meet business needs and support our values
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 3-5 years of related experience in learning and development, training, or a related field
- Strong knowledge and experience in the design, development, implementation, and measurement of learning solutions
- Strong knowledge of the ADDIE process, SAM, or other learning methodologies
- Experience leading multiple, complex, concurrent projects
- Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to present effectively virtually and in person
- Ability to manage all aspects of system administration for learning platforms, including troubleshooting customization and integration with other systems
Preferred Qualifications
- HR-related or other certifications such as 360s, Fierce Conversations, Franklin Covey, etc.
- SuccessFactors platform experience
Salary Ranges:
ME/NC/PA/SC Salary Range: $75,040 - $112,560
IL/MA/MD/NY Salary Range: $86,320 - $129,480
