## Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Learning and Development Specialist to join our team in Texas City, TX. This role is ideal for professionals with 0–5 years of experience who are excited to build and improve training programs that support attorney and staff performance. The Learning and Development Specialist will help design, deliver, and maintain learning resources that strengthen onboarding, compliance, and day-to-day operational excellence across the firm.
## Key Responsibilities
* Support the design and delivery of onboarding programs for new hires, including role-based training plans and checklists
* Create and maintain training materials such as job aids, SOPs, quick-reference guides, slide decks, and short e-learning modules
* Coordinate training logistics (scheduling, attendance tracking, room/virtual setup, materials) and ensure a smooth learner experience
* Partner with attorneys, practice leaders, and operations staff to identify skill gaps and translate needs into practical learning solutions
* Assist with compliance-related training administration (e.g., policy acknowledgements, required trainings, documentation)
* Help implement and manage learning tools (LMS or shared training repositories), including version control and content organization
* Collect feedback and basic learning metrics to evaluate effectiveness and recommend improvements
* Support knowledge management efforts by capturing best practices and standardizing workflows into repeatable training content
## Qualifications
* 0–5 years of experience in learning & development, training coordination, HR, operations, education, or a related field
* Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to turn complex information into clear, usable guidance
* Comfortable presenting or facilitating training for small groups (in-person and/or virtual)
* Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
* Collaborative mindset and professionalism when working with attorneys, staff, and leadership
* Proficiency with common productivity tools (Microsoft Office or Google Workspace); experience with an LMS is a plus
* Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and sound judgment
## Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)
* Experience creating e-learning or microlearning content (e.g., Articulate, Canva, Camtasia, or similar tools)
* Familiarity with legal environments, professional services, or regulated industries
* Basic instructional design knowledge (learning objectives, assessments, adult learning principles)
* Experience documenting processes and building SOPs in collaboration with subject matter experts
