The Role
We’re seeking a Lead UX Designer to shape the future of our digital tax products. You’ll guide experience strategy, mentor designers, and collaborate with product and engineering to deliver intuitive, impactful user experiences.
This is a hands-on leadership role that balances design craft with team guidance and is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of strategy and execution. You will join a tight-knit team that values collaboration, curiosity, and pushing the boundaries of design.

How You'll ContributeLead- Set design direction and elevate standards across our digital products with a strategic mindset.
- Mentor and grow other designers, fostering innovation, curiosity, and continuous learning.
- Guide teams through ambiguity and drive toward clarity and alignment.
- Partner with Product and Engineering to define requirements, align on user needs, and shape product strategy.
- Champion our design system, ensuring consistency, scalability, and long-term cohesion.
- Facilitate workshops and ideation sessions that unlock solutions and spark collaboration.
- Conduct user research and translate insights into designs that reveal measurable outcomes.
- Present and advocate for design decisions with stakeholders and clients, connecting them to business value.
- 7–10 years of product/UX design, with end-to-end ownership of complex workflows.
- Proven ability to lead and mentor designers, raising the bar for team output.
- Financial, enterprise, or B2B background is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability with AI tools and processes that accelerate design and research (eg. Lovable, Claude, Figma Make, etc).
- Strong portfolio showcasing both UI and UX, grounded in user-centered and data-informed design.
- Mastery of modern design tools (Figma) and familiarity with research tools (eg. Maze).
- Solid understanding of design systems and delivering consistency across platforms.
- Strategic thinker who can navigate ambiguity and drive toward clarity.
- Passion for revealing measurable outcomes and connecting design impact to business value.
- Collaborative and approachable, contributing to a positive, encouraging team culture.

Compensation:
- For certain California based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $140,000.00 - $192,500.00
- For other California based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $128,000.00 - $176,000.00
- For Colorado based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $124,000.00 - $169,400.00
- For Illinois based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $128,000.00 - $176,000.00
- For other Illinois based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $124,000.00 - $169,400.00
- For New York based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $140,000.00 - $192,500.00
- For other New York based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $116,000.00 - $159,500.00
- For Washington based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $128,000.00 - $176,000.00
