Position Summary
As a Lead UX Designer, you will shape healthcare and pharmacy experiences for colleagues, clients, and members through modern, lean, and agile UX practices. You will lead design strategy and execution within cross-functional product teams, guide work from discovery through delivery, and champion user-centered design across business, data, and technology partners.
This role requires expertise in user-centered design, user research, AI-enabled design practices, and strong business acumen. You will use AI tools to accelerate discovery, ideation, prototyping, content generation, and workflow efficiency while applying sound judgment, design rigor, and responsible use standards. You will align design decisions to business goals and deliver measurable business value.
The ideal candidate brings empathy, curiosity, creative problem-solving, strong communication skills, comfort with ambiguity, and the ability to collaborate effectively across functions.
Core Responsibilities:
- Translate user needs and business goals into experiences that deliver measurable business value
- Lead end-to-end design across the product lifecycle, including research, interaction design, visual design, prototyping, and usability evaluation
- Partner with product, engineering, business, and data teams to shape solutions and drive delivery
- Apply a lean, iterative, and agile approach grounded in collaboration, experimentation, and continuous learning
- Mentor and guide designers through coaching, leadership, and advocacy for user-centered design practices
- Use AI-enabled design tools and methods to improve speed, quality, and efficiency across the design process
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of professional experience in UX design
- 5+ years in at least two core design disciplines including: user research, interaction design, or visual design
- 5+ years designing business or enterprise applications while partnering independently with clients or stakeholders
- 5+ years applying user-centered design methods from research through implementation
- 5+ years using design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Miro
- 3+ years working in agile and lean environments
- 3+ years of experience with modern front-end technologies and frameworks (e.g., Material Design, HTML/CSS, grid systems, React, Angular)
- 2+ years of experience using AI tools and methods to support discovery, ideation, prototyping, content creation, and design workflow efficiency
- 2+ years demonstrated business acumen with ability to align design decisions to business goals and deliver measurable business value
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience advocating for UX design within large business and technology organizations
- Exceptional written, verbal, and visual communication skills
- Experience coaching others in user-centered design best practices
- Experience with user research methodologies and the ability to guide or train others
- Willingness to present on design topics internally
- Knowledge of pharmacy and healthcare industries
- Knowledge of cloud-based technology platforms
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Fine Arts, Computer Science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$118,450.00 - $260,590.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
