Maybern is transforming the way private fund managers effectively manage their funds through cutting edge technology. Maybern is founded by top engineering experts with deep knowledge of the fund management space.
Private funds manage $15T in capital and are growing at 20% YoY, but with increasing regulatory scrutiny and investor demands for transparency, the need for world class software to help private fund CFOs is crucial.
This is where Maybern comes in.
We are equipping fund managers with intuitive, flexible fund management software, enabling private investment managers to focus on what they do best: driving returns for their investors. We are backed by leading venture capital firms and a large number of strategic investors.
Maybern is an NYC based company with a strong in-office culture to drive collaboration, and we are looking to make strong additions to our team.
What We're Looking ForWe are seeking a Lead Test Engineer to build our internal testing function and work as a strategic, hands-on individual contributor. You’ll build our testing practice from scratch, design automation frameworks, drive test planning, and ensure our systems meet the highest standards of reliability and quality. This role combines deeply technical, boots-on-the-ground execution with the ability to influence how quality is embedded across engineering. You will shape how quality assurance is integrated into our development lifecycle.
Leadership experience is a nice-to-have, but the ability to independently deliver and own the strategy is essential.
What You'll DoDesign, implement, and maintain robust test automation frameworks and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines.
Lead test strategy across product lines, covering integration, UI, API, and performance testing.
Collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and domain experts to translate requirements into effective test plans.
Build ergonomic internal tooling for our developers to allow us to find and resolve issues early in development.
Become an expert in our product, able to dive into application code and resolve testing issues if needed.
Mentor and guide developers on testing best practices, eventually supporting the growth of a QA team.
Build and own performance testing capabilities (e.g., JMeter, K6) to support scalability and reliability analysis.
Have 5+ years of experience in software testing and QA
Bring strong programming skills (Typescript preferred) and experience building test automation frameworks from scratch.
Have experience with test automation frameworks like Playwright or Webdriver
Have experience in performance and load testing, with tools such as JMeter, K6, or LoadRunner.
Are fluent in API and web testing, including backend validation of large data sets.
Have hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions) and APM tools such as Datadog.
You thrive in environments where you define processes, implement frameworks, set quality standards, and grow testing culture from the ground up.
Are ready to be pushed beyond “talking about quality” into fully owning and delivering the testing strategy and implementation.
Have an engineering background (nice to have, but not required).
