JOB PURPOSE

Drives the design of integrated technology infrastructure systems to support the

enterprise's business needs. Implementing infrastructure solutions and

developing systems and automations to optimize business outcomes; Develops

awareness of the dependencies and implications of key engineering

decisions. Coordinates initiatives with moderate complexity and leads cross-functional technical teams.

OVERVIEW

We are seeking a Lead Systems Engineer with extensive experience in Microsoft 365 and Windows Server technologies to develop and optimize our enterprise class foundational platforms. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in Microsoft 365, configuration management, automation, content management, and process operationalization. Additionally, the candidate should have strong collaboration and communication skills, with experience leading cross-functional teams.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Extensive experience managing an enterprise scale Microsoft 365 tenant.

  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Windows Server technologies.

  • Expertise in cloud, hybrid, and on-premise Windows server configuration management (e.g., Azure Update Manager, Group Policy).

  • Extensive experience in designing and developing automation for self-service and self-remediation using Power Platform, Logic Apps, Powershell, or other automation tools.

  • Experience engineering Exchange online and hybrid environment and SMTP services.

  • Experience with modern content management, including retention and content lifecycle management and Purview capabilities.

  • Relevant Microsoft certifications required (e.g. MS-101, MS-102, PL-600, AZ-800)

  • Extensive experience in platform build with knowledge of working in cross-functional digital teams

  • Ability to guide other leaders on best technical decisions and justify reasoning. Demonstrated awareness of non-technical audiences and how to engage them in technical decision making.

  • Understanding of cloud architecture.

  • Understanding of foundational technologies and interconnections.

  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of clearly conveying technical information. Additionally, able to articulate the significance and narrative behind the work to ensure thorough understanding.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Enterprise Infrastructure Modernization

  • Deliver digital solution architecture services as assigned, preparing conceptual and logical architecture diagrams to align technical direction and document future state architectures.

Infrastructure Development and Maintenance

  • Design enterprise collaboration and Windows server solutions in line with industry best practice, troubleshoot complex issues, and provide Tier 3 support.

Technical Developments Recommendation

  • Discuss and recommend more complex or innovative solutions to better meeting user and/or business, performance, quality needs.

  • Capability Maintenance

  • Design and oversee the functionality, usability, and accessibility of core systems using content creation and management tools as well as digital media to ensure that technical continuity is maintained and standards are met.

Testing Technology Performance

  • Drive the design and execution of application testing and respond to user emails to monitor, diagnose, and correct performance issues.

Design and Conceptualization

  • Own work with cross-functional teams to conceptualize products and services, leveraging data to drive original design ideas and decisions.

Information Security

  • Implement and test required security measures such as Windows server and tenant configurations, monitoring performance to notify security experts of any problems. Drive security configurations and support audits.

System Roadmap

  • Build system roadmaps, ensuring agile implementation and continuous improvement. Implement and test required security measures such as Windows server and tenant configurations, monitoring performance to notify security experts of any problems. Drive security configurations and support audits.

Functional/Technical Requirements

  • Support the collection of functional requirements using document analysis and workflow analysis to express the requirements in terms of target user roles and goals.

Ongoing Learning and Development

  • Develop own and more junior team member capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and information training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation where relevant to improve performance and fulfill personal potential.

  • Act as a subject matter expert in multiple areas of technology, policy regulation, or operational management for the team.

  • Maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent level preferred

  • General Experience: Substantial general work experience together with comprehensive job related experience in own area of expertise to fully competent level. (Over 6 years to 10 years)

  • Managerial Experience: Basic experience of coordinating the work of others (4 to 6 months)

Targeted Pay Range: $95,200.00 - $158,800.00. This is part of a competitive total rewards package that could include other components such as: incentive, equity and benefits. Individual pay is determined by a number of factors including experience, location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.
