Broadridge is Growing! We are seeking a Lead Software Quality Assurance Engineer to join a stellar team in our Newark, New Jersey or Edgewood, NY office. As a Lead Software Quality Assurance Engineer on the QE team, you are expected to have industry-leading technical abilities and will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining automated test frameworks and tools. You will work closely with software engineers, project teams, and other stakeholders to ensure the delivery of high-quality software products. Your expertise in both development and testing will be crucial in creating efficient and scalable testing solutions that help identify defects early in the software development lifecycle. Approximately 50% of your time will be spent in designing/executing test cases and other 50% in playing hands on developer role.

Work Mode: We are made up of high performing teams that meet in person to learn and collaborate as needed.  This role is considered hybrid, which means you’ll be coming into the Newark or Edgewood office 2 days a week and given the flexibility to work remotely the rest of the time.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Define test strategy, test suites, test cases as well as design tools for QA/QE testing with a focus on automation.
  • Define and implement improvements to our existing processes and automated tools with the goal of increased testing scope and efficiency.
  • Work closely with Software Engineers and Product teams to understand the complex ecosystems of the Broadridge Investor Communications Solutions platforms.
  • Develop and maintain automated scripts promoting reusable components and maintainability. 
  • Execute automated test scripts and perform failure analysis to determine root cause of failure.  
  • Maintain and enhance capabilities of existing Serenity automation framework.
  • Provide guidance and review automation code developed by other team members.
  • Lead onboarding tasks for new projects and train new associates.
  • Assist with triage, diagnosis, and resolution of issues discovered across the platform.
  • Where necessary, develop and execute manual test cases.
  • Drive the conversion of manual tests to automated whenever possible.  Supporting manual testing efforts while the transition is in process.
  • Uphold the Platform Quality Engineering organization’s standards and procedures, including our coding best practices.
  • Contribute to end-to-end user acceptance tests.
  • Support QA/QE Tools and activities as needed. 
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to squad teams , fostering a strong quality-driven culture across the organization.
  • Collaborates with multiple teams ensure that the software application is delivered on time and meets the quality targets.  
  • Demonstrable ability to develop APIs and automated API tests, tools, and frameworks.
  • Responsible for automating feature, regression, and performance testing. 
  • Develop, support, and/or testing web applications.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science engineering, Information Systems, or related field
  • 7+ years of hands on experience as a SDET, QE Engineer or Software Developer.
  • Strong expertise in test automation frameworks and tools such as Gherkin (BDD /TDD) using Cucumber and Java.
  • 6+ years of hands-on experience with Java and Selenium.
  • 5+ years designing, implementing, and running test cases.
  • 5+ years working with test processes, methodologies, tools, and technology.
  • 5+ years performing functional and UI testing, quality reporting.
  • 3+ Hands on experience in Java or Python.
  • Proficiency with automation tools such as Selenium, JMeter for test case automation and execution.
  • In-depth usage and creation of automation framework for testing JSON, Rest/SOAP based Web Services.
  • Experience leading a small team  of SDET’s spread across multiple locations.
  • Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while maintaining a focus on quality and project timelines.
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms, specifically AWS.
  • Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java including object-oriented design.
  • Proficiency in UI automation (Serenity/Selenium, Robot, Watir)
  • Proficient knowledge and experience in the following tools: Maven, Jenkins, Git, Bit bucket, JIRA, Confluence, ALM, Xray or ALM or any relevant Test management tool

Preferred Qualifications

  • Agile SCRUM methodologies proficiency.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and within a team environment.
  • UFT/Selenium experience in building object repositories, standard & custom checkpoints, parameterization, reusable functions, and recovery scenarios. Knowledge of Java, HTML, and SQL.
  • Knowledge on multiple languages and libraries (e.g. HTML/ CSS, JavaScript, Angular, Node.js),
  • Knowledge on technologies like AWS S3, Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, Kafka, and CloudWatch
  • In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, reporting, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Salary Range: 130,000.00 – 140,000.00 USD annual
