What You'll Do
- Design and build robust, scalable backend systems and APIs, primarily in C# using .NET Core and ideally ServiceStack.
- Own technical direction, system design, and architectural decisions for a backend team focused on highly available, secure, and performant services.
- Stay hands-on in the codebase-writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code across services and infrastructure.
- Lead development efforts for services that integrate with internal platforms and third-party verification vendors.
- Advocate for engineering best practices including test automation, observability, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code.
- Collaborate with product managers and business stakeholders to define and deliver on team objectives.
- Evaluate opportunities to leverage AI tools or machine learning to enhance platform intelligence or efficiency.
- Mentor engineers, lead design reviews, and foster a high-performance team culture.
What You'll Bring
- 7+ years of backend-focused software engineering experience, including leading technical teams or projects.
- Expertise in C# and the .NET ecosystem, especially .NET Core.
- Experience building production APIs with frameworks such as ServiceStack, ASP.NET Web API, or similar.
- Strong background in building distributed systems with secure, high-performance, and resilient architectures.
- Deep knowledge of relational databases like SQL Server or MySQL, including schema design and query optimization.
- Solid understanding of AWS services (e.g., Lambda, SQS, DynamoDB, RDS, ECS). Cloud certifications are a strong plus.
- Experience with infrastructure automation (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with AI/ML concepts or tooling (e.g., OpenAI, AWS SageMaker) is a plus.
- Passion for shipping high-quality software fast, working in agile teams, and solving real-world business problems through code.
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field required.
- Master's degree preferred.
- AWS certifications preferred
