As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Asset and Wealth Management, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.
Job responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain robust backend services using Java, with a focus on scalability and performance.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in AWS and designing scalable microservices-based solutions.
  • Design and implement user-facing features using React.js.
  • Build reusable components and libraries for future use.
  • Optimize applications for maximum performance and scalability.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other developers to define and implement innovative solutions for product direction, visuals, and user experience.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and best practices in both backend and front-end development.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
  • Strong proficiency in Java and experience with backend frameworks (e.g., Spring Boot).
  • Experience in AWS environments
  • Experience with microservices architecture and RESTful APIs.
  • Thorough understanding of React.js and its core principles. Experience with popular React.js workflows (such as Redux or Flux).
  • Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements.
  • A knack for benchmarking and optimization. Familiarity with code versioning tools such as Git.
  • Strong understanding of UX principles and ability to create intuitive user interfaces.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with business stakeholders, product owners, designers, and platform teams.
