Experienced SAP S/4HANA Plant Setup & Deployment Lead to execute Plant setup and configuration across Purchasing and Finance product areas, including but not limited to Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Intercompany, Vehicle Accounting, and Reporting. This role is focused on the technical configuration and enterprise structure setup required to enable new/expanded plants within the system. This position acts as the core architect bridging the enterprise structure setup between the Purchasing (MM) and Finance (FI/CO) domains.

Responsibilities
  • Execute Plant setup and configuration in SAP S/4HANA, including enterprise structure definition (Plant, Purchasing Organization, Storage Locations) and their assignments to Company Code, Sales Organization, and related organizational units.

  • Perform plant-related configuration across Purchasing, including:

    • Purchasing Organization assignment to Plant.

    • Plant-specific procurement settings and vendor master extensions.

  • Perform plant-related configuration across Finance product areas, including:

    • Accounts Payable: Plant-level configuration to support vendor invoice/payment processing.

    • General Ledger: Valuation area and account determination setup at the plant level.

    • Intercompany: Configuration to enable cross-plant/cross-company code transaction processing.

    • Vehicle Accounting: Plant-level setup to support vehicle inventory valuation and related accounting structures.

    • Reporting: Plant-level configuration required to support downstream financial and management reporting.

  • Coordinate with respective Product teams (AP, GL, Intercompany, Vehicle Accounting, Reporting, etc.) to gather plant-specific configuration requirements prior to setup.

  • Ensure configuration is completed accurately and on schedule to enable Product teams to conduct their own validation and testing.

  • Hand off completed configuration to Product teams with clear documentation for their independent testing and sign-off.

  • Support cutover and go-live activities related to plant configuration (e.g., transport coordination, sequencing across dependent products).

  • Maintain configuration documentation and a plant setup checklist/tracker across all involved product areas.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve configuration-related issues identified by Product teams during their validation/testing cycles.

Qualifications
  • Experience: 5-8+ years of SAP configuration experience, with hands-on experience setting up Plants and related enterprise structure elements in S/4HANA.

  • Core Modules: Working knowledge of Purchasing (MM) and Finance (FI/CO) configuration as it relates to plant-level setup (valuation areas, account determination, purchasing org assignments).

  • Enterprise Structure Expertise: Demonstrated experience configuring Plants, Company Codes, Purchasing Organizations, and Storage Locations, and their assignments (e.g., OX10, OX18, OX17, OX09).

  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Ability to work with multiple Product teams (AP, GL, Intercompany, Vehicle Accounting, Reporting) to gather requirements and sequence configuration work.

  • Automotive Familiarity: Exposure to vehicle accounting or automotive OEM/dealer financial structures is a plus, but deep functional ownership is not required.

  • Project Skills: Ability to manage configuration timelines, documentation, and coordination across parallel workstreams; familiarity with SAP Activate methodology.

Preferred Qualifications

  • SAP S/4HANA Certification in MM or FI.

  • Prior experience in a plant rollout/expansion project involving multiple finance/purchasing product teams.
