Up and running within minutes using generative AI, our digital storefront products help pros get discovered, trusted, and booked repeatedly.

Topline Pro was co-founded by Nick Ornitz (CEO) and Shannon Kay (COO) and is powered by an incredible team of 70+ people, with plans to grow even more in 2025. We serve thousands of local service businesses and were named one of the top 50 tech companies building for SMBs in both 2023 and 2024.

We’re YC-backed and well-funded with several years of runway, and we’ve experienced rapid growth over the past year. We’re in a phenomenal position to scale, with the financial foundation, product-market fit, and momentum to go big. You’ll be joining at an inflection point—where the groundwork is laid and the path to massive impact is clear.

We’re searching for a driven Lead Product Designer to join our product team in either our Brooklyn, NY or Boston, MA office.

📣 Role Summary

Topline Pro’s Lead Product Designer will help Pros discover the value Topline Pro and its products bring to them—then stick around to grow with us. We're looking for a Lead Product Designer to join this mission and elevate our acquisition and retention experience.

You'll be deep in the product—designing thoughtful, high-craft experiences that improve adoption, build trust, and support long-term retention of our Pros. Whether helping new segments of Pros discover Topline Pro, designing engaging tools to improve conversion or re-engaging them with the right next step, you'll be focused on impact and outcomes.

You'll partner closely with product managers, engineers, marketing leaders, and fellow designers to shape meaningful journeys across mobile and web. We're looking for someone who's grounded in interaction design, strong in systems thinking, and comfortable building end-to-end solutions in complex product environments.

⚡ What you'll do
  • Design product experiences that help Pros discover, onboard, and succeed across Topline Pro’s ecosystem.

  • Collaborate with partners to define strategy, shape roadmaps, and deliver end-to-end flows that increase adoption and retention.

  • Use craft, curiosity, and customer insight to simplify complexity and guide Pros to value.

  • Balance quick iteration with high-quality execution—contributing to both vision work and shippable UI.

  • Elevate the work of others by giving clear, actionable feedback and helping grow a culture of design excellence across the design organization.

  • Advocate for best practices and design patterns that feel intuitive, performant, and platform-native.

🤗 Who you are
  • 6+ years of experience in product design, with a portfolio that shows strong interaction design, craft excellence, and clear problem-solving across mobile and web.

  • Demonstrated success designing for web and native mobile applications (iOS and Android), including nuanced transitions, gestures, and platform conventions.

  • A systems thinker who can map out complex flows yet sweat the details at every step.

  • Experienced in driving measurable outcomes, not just output—whether increasing engagement, activation, or retention in ambiguous environments.

  • Strong collaborator who brings clarity and energy to cross-functional work.

  • Customer-first mindset, with the ability to interpret data and research into design decisions that support real people and real businesses.

  • Curious, self-directed, and excited to build at a fast-growing startup.

  • Excited to mentor others and help scale both the team and the craft.

  • Interested in exploring and leveraging AI to accelerate the design process without compromising quality.

🙌 What we offer
  • Competitive compensation packing including base salary and equity

  • Full Medical, Dental, and Vision Health Coverage

  • Computer and workspace enhancements

  • Monthly stipend for mental and physical health

  • 401(k) plan (non-matching)

  • Unlimited vacation, 9 company holidays including election day, and 1 personal volunteer day a year

  • Company-paid Wellhub membership for fitness and wellness

  • Dinner covered with Uber Eats + a stocked kitchen to keep you fuele

  • Opportunity to take on significant responsibility and ownership in scaling a product that can change the lives of home service pros

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
